about version.txt all i did is
open a filer(psp filer)-> go to flash0-> copy vsh/etc/version.txt to seplugins folder-> open seplugins/version.txt via filer-> highlight the first line then press right button(it will edit the line)-> edit 6.20 to anything you want-> press start(save).

it works for me and to my friends psp.
PS: latest version of filer can edit the line of the text files.

edit:when i try to edit version.txt via wordpad(windows xp) it does not work anymore so don't try to edit version.txt on wordpad imo

I'm VERY scared about using anything that flashes the psp because I have a go and don't have any money to buy a new one if it bricks. I'm on 6.20 and I was thinking I would get perm, but I want to know if I could unstall the fw at any time if I get worried. Also, what advantages does the 6.35 over 6.20 if any? Thx guys :D

awesome job guys, but i think there is still bug in pspgo usb or charging or may be i m not using it right. this is what i m done and getting.

1)Installed Pro-b4 by running PROUPDATE
2)Run fast recovery after power/reset device.
3) PERM patch ( not installed atm)

In recovery menu if i use "Toggle usb" to enable, then after i back from xmb n try to use usb connection it says "Connect this system to a PC or a PS3 system using a USB cable".

Secondly i dont see my pspgo charging either from usb.

i hope some one can help me out

big thanks to every one involved

@sam666 I have the same problem sometimes on my PSP 3000 and restarting VSH usually fixes it. Sometimes my piece of crap computer just stops recognizing USB devices, so I would need to reboot the PC, too.

More about version.txt here.
I used it with TN-D, and it worked.
Updated to B4, and it's not being recognized.
I dunno. It looks like a bit of a problem.

I'm going to "ignore" the comments about the "timing" issues between the release here and on coldbird's site, because it was a matter of minutes (the entry that has been rejected for not following this rule had been posted a day ago on other sites), there's no way for me to prove that it was posted here or there before, and, let's be honest, CFW Pro is a massive candidate for this compo, so I don't want to reject it just based on suspicions.

In other words, welcome to the competition, entry accepted :)

Very clever use for an eboot with no graphical mode, yes. : )

I am in agreement with Wololo on this one, there is no way to prove anything, and if you read coldbird's own post he points out it was someone ELSE posting after he was simply getting his own normal way of distributing his release updated, HE did not make the post in the CFW section, someone ELSE did, for all intents and purposes this IS where HE announced it first, and I believe that with all my heart. Why lie? He could easily just update even further and have a B-5 done before May 15th, I believe him.

Welcome to the competition!

And everyone remember there is a month and 5 days left to keep coding on all the secret projects we don't know about yet, so, don't count anything out or over yet. At the same time, very nice release Coldbird & Virtuous Flame! This set's the bar a lot higher, in my opinion. However, remember I am your humble compo host, I am not a judge. That honor falls to a group of 4 men who are going to have some tough / interesting decisions to make. ; )

About version.txt, trust me it does work... tested on both UMD based and GO models.
Did you enable the "Use version.txt" option in your Recovery Menu? ;)

Yes I did enable it I have been using it on B3 since it was released and ya it's totally not working for me on B4 i don't know what's wrong once again I'm using 6.35 pro B4 on a 4g 3001 psp

Ok coldbird and VF you guys are awesome! I finally got the version.txt to work today the problem is I had copy + paste version.txt . You need official version.txt to get it to work correctly. The 6.37 link on an older post on here does totally work I'm staying on B4 now THANK YOU coldbird and VF

By the way anyone play Playstation HOME? room would have been cool on the psp but ya if u wanna add me my name is shadowknight1620

I have a few noob questions (I'm new to hacking, so bear with me.)

1. This is a CFW? I thought PSP-3000 and PSP-GO had unhackable motherboards?
2. Does this work on PSP-3001 Firmware 6.37?
3. Please can someone explain to me the entire installation process so i don't brick my PSP?

Thanks.

Thanks.

1. This is a LCFW because it doesn't touch the flash.
2. No, it's for 6.20 or 6.35
3. It depends of the one you are going to use.

P.S.: Please don't post everything in orange. It's bad to read.
