Re: Minesweeper for PSP (Update: 10/04/10)
Nice game, I enjoyed playing it. Look forward to background music feature.
Some suggestions:
- Highscore table. 3 kinds of predefined difficulties with one highscore table for each.
- Configurable ADZ (analog dead zone). The analog nub on the PSP is auto-calibrating. That means when you boot the PSP it will give you some values that's not quite perfect. If you rotate it fully one turn it will calibrate itself. However, even in it's calibrated state it will typically give you some values that's not perfectly zero when it's in the middle position. Usually the game developer defines an area in which the game will not use as input: the analog dead zone. ADZ=32 is a nice default, but it should be configurable.
- Restrict the cursor to the game table.
- I like the sound samples. How about some graphic effects as well. picture of a minesweeper boat somewhere. And some graphic effect to simulate a mine blowing up... Sonar sound effects? And some proud military band music on the highscore screen.
Some speech in the form of jarhead jargon would be cool too.
- Speaking of music, instead of making a player for the MUSIC folder, why don't you look for some freeware MP3s that suit your game better?
- I set the max size for the board and max value for mines. Got one giant board, pressed one place and won.
Perhaps the max amount of mines should be restricted to half the available space? (width * height / 2)

I hoping this would be a 3D minesweeper, but all in all good game! (3D minesweeper gives me an idea though... )
Re: Minesweeper for PSP (Update: 15/04/10)
Thanks Strangelove for your impressions ! =)
I've taken into account what you've said. Since r88, you can't put more than (height*width)/2 mines, I added a bgm (will certainly be modified later though), and a sonar sound effect. Also, you can now choose between Easy, Medium, Hard and Custom. I'm working on a high-score board, it will be finished soon ! For the ADZ, I'll see later what can I do, since this isn't a major issue. (Even with my old Fat PSP I can play with the mouse ^^).
And by the way, many thanks to you all for supporting me !!

Haven't played Minesweeper much before so now I have a chance to catch up on lost time. The graphics and user interface are much better than most homebrew applications I've seen!

Re: Minesweeper for PSP (Update: 15/04/10)
You've definately got me hooked! My only suggestion so far is the ability to pause the game
Re: Minesweeper for PSP (Update: 15/04/10)
@anc96: I'm glad you liked it
I'll add a pause mode in the next release, in fact it was planned from the beginning, I just forgot to program it
@bsanehi: Thanks for this version ! I was searching for a way to reduce signed version weight, so it's perfect. Could you tell me how you did that, or what software you used ?
Just a quick rememberer, here are the features that will be added on the next release:
