Post Updated for PSPInstaller 5.27
Re: PSPInstaller 5
I was a bit disappointed when the initial release didn't work on my PSP... This new revision works FLAWLESSLY!spike_132000 wrote:Post Updated for PSPInstaller 5.27
One suggestion. I use the "Game Categories" plugin, because I have a lot of homebrew. I think that in the next revision, you should add the ability to specify the path that the homebrew is installed to in the options. (For example, the ability to set the path from "xx0:/PSP/GAME/" to "xx0:/PSP/GAME/Games" or "xx0:/PSP/GAME/Applications".)
Anyways, out of the homebrew "App Stores" that I've tried, this one is easily my favorite. Clean interface, no signup requirements, and doesn't crash my PSP.
Keep up the good work!

Re: PSPInstaller 5
Hi Rab1d, thank you for your positive comments, I am glad the new version is working for you. Unfortunately at this time, PSPInstaller can not support Game Catagories. All the ZIP files people upload get extracted directly to the root. It is not as simple as saying extract things to the GAME folder because some of the stuff might be a THEME, or PHOTO ect; ect; there are too many diffrent posibilities of folders that things can go into. When the earlier PSPInstallers where created and the creator of REPOPrep was still around, I may have had the ability to ask him to add a new field to say where the files should be extracted to. Then when PSPInstaller is ran and downloads the DB, it would follow those instructions, unfortunately, the REPOPrep author is touring australia and I have no way of getting hold of him.Rab1d wrote:I was a bit disappointed when the initial release didn't work on my PSP... Re: PSPInstaller 5
May I make a suggestion? I once made a plugin store-type app where people could download and install plugins (I like plugins...lol
). Well, what I did was have a central database file of names, descriptions, and download paths. The first line of the .db was a version number, so that the app could determine whether or not I had added anything to the .db or not. The rest of the file was the database. The app would ask whether or not you wanted to update the list. Maybe you could implement something similar so that you don't have to update the entire app to add downloads?

Re: PSPInstaller 5
Thank you for your idea. PSPInstaller 5 already does this and has been doing this since version 1.
