[Entry] PSPInstaller 5

Post by spike_132000 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:59 am

I would like to reserve this space for PSPInstaller 5

Name: PSPInstaller 5
Developers: Spike_132000
Extra Cred: Corrosion
Description: PSPInstaller is an application that installs homebrew games/apps, wallpapers, themes and plugins automatically. From downloading from the server to installing on the memory stick or internal flash (memory device not flash0 or flash1, for example internal memory on PSP Go). It is helpful as it cuts out all the middle tasks of manually extracting files and figuring out where to put them. This program will do all that automatically. Featured apps allow people to get there homebrew games and applications out there by posting them on the front page of PSPInstaller!

Download: [Awaiting...]

I don't have any screenies of it at the moment, I don't have a download of it at the moment as it is still a work in progress. I have a preview video on youtube which you guys can check out if you want:
Developed in PGE by spike_132000 and Corrosion.

Can i take the option of putting the advertisement in the rar archive and the readme.txt as the start up of the current version of PSPInstaller 5 is already quite long. If not I can put it in.

New updates are/will be:

New GUI
News update ticker across the top
Featured applications
Download now, install later option
amongst much more!

I'll keep you updated!

Have you red the rules "Your topic should contain at least: The name of your homebrew, a description, The name/nickname of the author(s), and A LINK TO DOWNLOAD THE HOMEBREW" this doesnt belong here. a mods going to lock this untill you put up a download link to the homebrew you want to enter.

Better? I don't have a download at the mo as I am still developing it. I want to enter but can't post it up if it's not 100% done yet.

While it does look cool it also seems a bit risky to me. What's to stop you from adding something that will edit/replace flash0/1 in one of the downloads to cause a ton of bricks?

If the person downloading the game/app/plugin from your homebrew doesn't have any control over what the file/folder does after it's downloaded they really have no protection from anything malicious.

(I'm not saying that you're going to intentionally brick PSP's but the option to do it seems far to easy)
DO NOT MESSAGE ME ABOUT THE NAME OF ANY NINJA RELEASE GAME! I WILL NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH THE NAME OF THE GAME AND IF YOU PERSIST THEN I WILL REPORT YOU TO THE STAFF!

As far as I am aware, PGELua does not have any flash commands, also, the source code is viewable and easy to read so if someone is really concerned they can look at the code.
