I also decided to test your homebrew (downloaded it a few minutes ago), played it 2 minutes and ended up finding a bug after the first try. I played the normal game with hard and got to the second wave. I kept hitting x while waiting the attack of 2nd wave and got the following lua error:
"Error: cannon.lua:276: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)
Press START to restart"
Anyway, a few suggestions for future updates:
- The cannon could be moved with analog.
- There could be some special ammo kit deliveries to the island e.g. shoot 3 ammos once.
- If you're interested in adding a new mode, user could be the attacker too. For example, the user starts from a hangar and his goal is to bomb all the cannons in different islands (requires a little bigger map). After this he returns to the hangar. In some missions there could also be flying opponents that can be destroyed with bombs/minigun. If you ever played Triplane Turmoil, there was a little similar mission mode (
screens).
