PSP3DPlugin - enable anaglyph 3D graphic in gamesV2.21

Post by PSPWizard »

Hi there,

hereby I do submit the update to my alread existing plugin to this competition...

Homebrew-Type: Plugin
Homebrew-Developer: PSPWizard (aka AnMaBaGiMa)
Homebrew-Release Version: Update of already released PluginVersion - current v2.21
Homebrew-Donwload page: http://code.google.com/p/psp3dplugin - direct download linkt to latest version: http://psp3dplugin.googlecode.com/files/psp3d_v2.2.zip
Homebrew-Blog: http://blog.pspwizard.de (latest update on the project progress)

Change-Log
  • new game support: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
in-game 3D-Mode change possible. While keeping L-Trigger and R-Trigger pressed you could use the following keys to "play" with the 3D appearence while the 3D mode is active in the game you are playing:
    * Left/Right of the digi-Pad is changing the shift amount of the anaglyph colors
    * 3D activiation key (default is NOTE) to toggle the anaglyph colors from red/cyan to geen/pink and to yellow/blue...
The fact that this is already an openSource project would make this work special as well, I guess.

Version 1.1 is now available.....
change log
- New game support for "Ape Escape", "Ridge Racer 2", "Descpicable me" and "Vulcanus - Seek & Destroy".
- While pressing r-trigger and l-trigger you could see on screen the 3D parameter A (ROT_ANGLE) and P (ROT_POINT) as you may want to put into the configuration for your game
- while pressing r-trigger and l-trigger and triangle you can swap the colors of the 3D mode

Version 1.2 is now available.....
please check the download side mentionned above for downloading...
change log
- Compatible with 6.20 TN-HEN
- new game support, check the full compatibility list....

Version 2.0 is now available.....
change log
- "in-game" menu to configure the 3d behavior
- direct save/load game specific settings from the menu
- FIFA11 and The 3rd Birthday are now supported
- FF7 Crisis Core is stable now and Gods Eater Burst is working as well, but with limmitations: Each color need to be drawn seperately which results in some flickre..depending from the current frame rate this is more or less acceptable :|
- not 100% confirmed but it should work now with 6.20 Pro B5 and upwards.

Version 2.1 is now available...
change log
- you can now choose within the "in-game" menu to directly change the 3d settings as in version 1.2 while playing the game (keep L+R Trigger pressed)

- Upload of same gameplay videos for Dissidia, Fifa11, 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep to my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/anmabagima

Version 2.2 is now available...
change log
- you can now store game configs with theire game ID in the config file (important for e.g. japanese titles)
- Syphon Filter - Dark Mirror is now supported
- you can set log level to tell you what might be running wrong with your game in the config file. Just add LOG_LEVEL=1 (up to 4 possible) either in a game specific or in the default section. The log file is created in the MS root.

Hi.
If your question is "would an update of this plugin be accepted in the competition", the answer is yes. :)

However we can't accept the entry "as is" since what you currently have does not follow the rules (splash screen missing + no massive update compared to the previous version you already released).

I'm locking this for now, but this is nothing personal. We just don't want to see a massive amount of "I plan to submit this" topics, instead of actual submissions.

In other words: as soon as you are satisfied with your update (once you think it has enough major improvements compared to your latest binary release), please build a binary and submit it. This is what we will be using to see if we accept the entry or not (again, based on your explanation, I don't see why we would reject it). We cannot accept an entry based on a "promise" that there "will" be an update and that it "will" follow the rules of the competition :)

As soon as your binary is actually ready please feel free to contact one of the mods and we will unlock your topic :) .

If you need US PSN Codes, this technique is what I recommend.

Hello PSPWizard,
I just wanted to make a quick comment. I very much hope that you DO get your entry up to "spec" if you will, as it looks incredibly cool to me. Now that you mention it will be open source as well that's even cooler. Please understand we have to follow the rules we put into place, as, if we make an exception there will be way more exceptions. Obviously it's possible that there may be an exception down the line where me and the judges will have to conference further, but this one is pretty straight forward and I am in agreement with Wololo.
Please do add whatever version(s) of splash screens that are listed as OFFICIAL, and then also when you have updated it beyond what has been posted on other sites, then yes, PLEASE do come back and ask me or Wololo to unlock it, so you can enter correctly. : )
I appreciate the fact that there is excitement in the air, etc but we must follow the procedures outlined as this is A LOT of prize money to be awarded, and only by following the set rules to the T (unless someone get's an exception, talk to me or wololo about those for now, everybody.)

Again PSPWizard, I hope to see your entry, I really do. Please add additional functionality and whatever version of the official splash screen is up at the moment in time you are compiling / submitting, and remember you can keep adding newer versions of your entry all the way up to May 15th. : )

Looking forward to seeing you entry!

Hello all,
Unlocking topic for PSPWizard, as he has contacted with the URL to an updated version of his submission, with further game support and other updates. It is deemed to be an updated (and will be more so) version of his old version of the brew, and therefore accepted. Please no-one but the judges comment on this newly re-opened topic before PSPWizard can get his new reply in and update his original post with the link to the new version (genesis compo version #1.)

Regards,

npt

Hi there! Am wassgha, I've posted months ago the original idea of the 3D on PSP and because my PSP was broken I didn't continue the project. I saw your plug-in and it seems making very nice 3D effects. I encourage you to continue it.
Here are some ideas for the next versions:
  • You can add more colors support (Red/Cyan, Red/Blue, Magenta/Blue, Magenta/Green, Blue/Yellow are the most important color combinations)
  • You can add the right/left swapping
  • ...
Hope you continue your project and update it regularly.

Hi wassgha,
thanks for your recommendation and for submitting this idea to have 3D on a PSP onto a forum :o)

Adding more color modes would not be difficoult. However, it's hard to get the right color codes to set the right filter. Without having all the glasses it's hard to check whether the effect is good enough and the filter used matches the color of the glasses.

What do you mean by right/left swapping ? You can already change the "shift" of the different images...just keep L-TRIGG and R-TRIGG pressed and than left or right on the digi pad of your PSP.

best regards...
