Sequel to Soul Blazer for competition

Not sure if many of you know about the game Soul Blazer(think Actraiser, Illusion of Gia, Terranigma) but it was released in the early 90s for the Super Nintendo. It has always held a special spot for me in all video games as one of my all time favorites.



For those of you that haven't played Soul Blazer, think of Zelda Link to the Past with town restoration and soul saving. Its a top down hack n' slash game that takes you through different parts of the world(town, forest, underwater, snow, castle, house of robots, and even outer space) saving people and all creatures by destroying monsters and releasing the trapped souls.

For those of you that have played it and enjoyed it as much as I have, I am curious if anyone would like to see a sequel to it i.e. Soul Blazer 2. So please share your thoughts and or ideas about this. I would love for this project that I'm currently working to come to light. I'm all ears

well Soul Blazer 2 was already made its called Illusion of Gaia

Thanks for the first two comments! So far I have gotten the Intro, Title, Menu, GUI and couple sprites working. Working pretty smoothly so far. Map and collision is next.

As for Illusion of Gaia being considered as Soul Blazer 2, I only find that as opinion. Therefore actually creating a game that could be considered as Soul Blazer "2" is the main interest in this project of mine. I just want to give people that enjoyed Soul Blazer a chance to play essentially the same game but with new environments and enemies(and possibly a story).
