Question On legal things
Would it be not legal to enter a Haloish Type Homebrew into the competition since there is money involved? I am really curious on the legality of some of the homebrew titles that can be entered.

Re: Question On legal things
Money is unrelated, your entry must be legal, and this is the contestant's responsibility to make sure they submit things that are legal. (we don't have the manpower to check everything)
If by "Haloish" you mean a game looking like Halo... well that depends "how much" it looks like Halo. For example, I believe "Halo" as a name for an fps is a trademark, so you shouldn't use that name. Second, you shouldn't use any sound or graphics from the Halo game, unless you get the authorization from the owners of the copyright (which you wouldn't in this specific case).
In other words, submitting a FPS is very fine.
submitting a FPS named "Halo for PSP" using the Halo graphics and sounds is not fine.

If you need US PSN Codes, this technique is what I recommend.

What if all the graphics are hand-made?
Re: Question On legal things
Well then it's your own fps and has nothing to do with Halo, right?

Probably, that would be legal. It is freeware anyway, but just in case, contact the author.(|EcLiPsE|) wrote:I have a question too: If i want to make a game that's have the name of an android game(the game is free, the lite version of it), and i say at credits "many thanks to the company <name of the company>for the original game" its legally?

freeware doesn't mean that the owner still doesn't have the inherited copyright... rights. Although, thats getting into a grey areakidz axe wrote:Probably, that would be legal.
