Just a question about competition

Post by Terbaddo » Mon Feb 14, 2011 3:42 pm

Just a question: can I submit my source code with the binary or no ?

Thanks

That is not Unix. That is OSX a proprietary branch of BSD.

In my opinion, don't submit with the code, but if you want to,its allowed, from what i read from the rules.

In my opinion, hold onto the source until the last day of the competition, and post the source along with your final version. Prevents the risk of people trying to steal some of your code or something.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
jocks,
nerds,
preps,
emos,
punks,
crazies,
losers,
ghosts,
individuals
and people who don't give a dang about the stupid binary joke.

Do as you want.
Specifically for my prize, which will go to my favorite open source entry, as Nymphaea said it is fine to submit the source with you final version. You can work closed source until the 15th of May, if the source is included by the 15th of May, your entry wil be considered as open source for my prize.

Of course submitting the source in every version is fine too. Who knows, some people might help you :)
If you need US PSN Codes, this technique is what I recommend.

I tend to agree, submitting your source with the first version of your entry could be a GOOD thing for you... you never know someone might take it, improve some things, send you the changes, and there you go. You have to judge whether you want to go open source or not, but like Wololo pointed out, to be considered an official "Open Source Entry" the source must be submitted with the final version on May 15th.

Anyway, open source entries are HIGHLY encouraged, but of course not required.
