All homebrews, all levels ?

Post by sined95 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 12:27 pm

Hello,
First, I want to congratulate all the people which have organized this contest, the judges and the sponsors.
So, in the rules, i've read that my homebrew must be accepted by the judges to take part to the competition. But, is the quality of the game, a condition to be accepted ? I don't want to make a game and don't take part !

Thanks, Sined95 (french)

No, the "quality" will not be a criteria for accepting the homebrew in the contest. It will, of course, be a criteria when we judge the homebrews, but that's another story :)

(Of course if the homebrew doesn't run at all, or something similar, it won't be accepted, but this is a community contest, the goal is not to punish contestants, so if we have problems running a homebrew we will contact the creator to try to solve the issues :) )

If you need US PSN Codes, this technique is what I recommend.

Ok thanks.
I thought that if the game wasn't good enought, he couldn't be accepted. But no thema ? It's odd, no ?

Merci bien de m'avoir répondu !

A theme would limit the competition. The whole idea of the competition was to get more development started in the PSP community, and for people to work on projects they think are worth winning that money.

I like it, because it means in the next few months we'll be getting a lot of new fun apps and games to play with, maybe some good plugins, and possibly even more, like new HEN's for 6.37+, new CFW's, etc.

Hi,
Yes I agree with you. With this huge price, a lot of people will take part.
But a lot a people think that the dates are not good. That's at the same time as some examinations.

This depends on your country and your age, really. I haven't had any exam in 8 years :P

We honestly thought much more about the upcoming release of the NGP, the attention generated by the Hen (when to start the contest so that we are not too much in the shadow of the Hen, but at the same time benefit from the crowd it attracted), and the judges' schedules, than the schedule of French high schools

I'm planning to apply with a 2d space shooter. The problem is I already planned to present it for the XtreamLua Contest 2011 with the Prolog version (which will only show the general gameplay through a tutorial mission). What I would like to present for the genesis competition is the Chapter 1 which includes a story and background in a real world (bases, stuff, etc).
So my question is can I apply with this game (which will be completely different but with the same base concept) or should I end my contribution for the previous contest ? (the fact is I won't have enough time to start a new game after releasing the prolog.)

This sounds like an update good enough for me. Let me double-check with the other judges, but I think there shouldn't be any problem.

Wololo,
This sounds like it definitely qualifies in our update policy. Sounds really cool actually.

Cheers,
