PSP Genesis Competition 2012 - is one being planned?

This would be awesome!

But I don't think it's as easy to set-up as most people would think it is.

GbaTemp cancelled this year's homebrew bounty contest due to difficulty of implementation and declining scene interest.
Unfortunately, I predict the same fate for Genesis 2012 for the same reasons.

It would be nice for Mr. Wololo to confirm this to avoid false hopes for homebrew devs.

It would be better to make PSV Genesis Competition... (somehow ). I think by doing that devs'll get faster psv homebrew (hack) progress because they'll be much more and in the end of the year we could see the first vita CFW. Unfortunateli that forum is against piracy, so I think it won't ever happen.

I'm curious about this for the original psp too. I don't think I'll have my hands on a vita anytime soon.

Hacking has little to do with piracy...

Pirates do take advantage of hacking but it's a completely one way street.

Maybe PSP Genesis Competition 2013 ? =)
