ok you know how cfe has tm in it?
well ive set up my firmware with timemachine and all that
when i activate cfe and go to the tm menu, the firmware i set up shows up along with 'NAND'
but when i click my set up fw, 3.60, it reboots, but boots from nand
im not using a pandora
is pandora absolutely necassary?
is it possible to just flash tm ipl to nand?

im on 6.35 neur0n, using 6.xx cfe
my 2000 is obviously hackable, ...i have cfw...mhm

and custom ipl is for booting from nand ipl while theres a pandora in the psp
cuz normally psp boots only from mem stick ipl if theres pandora
and i dont wanna perform surgery on my battery
and does custom ipl still boot with regular battery?

You NEED a Pandora battery to use Time Machine, there isn't a way around it that I know of. Also, neur0n's CFW already has a custom IPL, all CFW do, those custom IPLs are for OFW ;)

If you know how to make the OFW into TM firmwares, then sure, but it requires a lot of coding experience and knowledge of the inner workings of the PSPs firmware.

The custom OFW IPLs I mentioned are for hackable PSP-2000s with that OFW on it's NAND and they allow you to boot the OFW while using a pandora battery, because the original OFW IPLs don't allow you to (the PSP acts like it's bricked).

Why would you do that? If you want to do that, why not just install the whole firmware to NAND like normal?

sreee...rewind...
lol ok so tm works by using a custom ipl...right?
that custom ipl is loaded using a pandora
so can't we just flash that custom ipl and basically use tm features without pandora?

or am i hopelessly lost

cuz i think i figured out a way to flash a raw ipl...i think

There's a big flaw in your theory: Each TM firmware has it's own separate IPL that only boots that specific firmware. So if you flashed 3.60 TM IPL, you could only boot 3.60 M33 (if it'd even work that way, which I doubt). The MSIPL is made for the MS, I highly doubt it'd work in flash, and even if it did, where would the NAND firmware's IPL go?

Why do you have a problem with using a Pandora anyway? Once you have TM setup correctly and have either CFW or OFW w/ custom IPL, all you have to do is throw a Pandora in your PSP and forget about it. And if for some reason you need to boot normally and only have one battery, just take the batt out and use the AC adapter.

Both of my hackables live off of Pandora batteries, and I have spares for the times I want to try the newest OFW on my 2000.

My recommendation to you is: get a spare battery and find someone with a PSP that can softmod batteries OR buy a pre-made Pandora. I don't recommend the hardmod method, no one needs a battery blowing up in their face... If you still don't want to go the Pandora route, you might as well forget about TM.
