You could use a device like the Joystick thingy(don't remember what it's called) for the iphone/Android phone. It sticks onto the touch screen and acts just like a joystick. But instead of a joystick it could just be a raised button that clicks a certain spot on the touch screen. (Problem solved. Next

I highly doubt Vita will be able to emulate PS2. The situation is not comparable with PSOne on PSP, because PSP has a very similar hardware to PSOne (namely same CPU type), hence the easiness of emulating PSOne, since a lot of stuff can be done by hardware because of the similar architecture. PSVita will be way different from PS2, specially it will have no Emotion Engine. Emulating EE by software would be very very slow, and most likely not useful. Same happens with PS3 btw, and I don't think PSVita will be as powerful as PS3.

Not really, it's still a bit difficult to hold.Disturbed0ne wrote:You could use a device like the Joystick thingy(don't remember what it's called) for the iphone/Android phone. Maybe, we could have a cover for the PSVita that is in the shape of a controller, like we have for the PSP I believe, with an extra part/mechanism that mimics the rear shoulder buttons using the thing you stated above.

I agree, without the right hardware the vita wont emulate PS2. The first Gen fat ps3 had the Emotional Engine, thats why it can play ps2 games.
On a side note, Would it be possible for sony to add a type of hardware to the Vita for it to emulate ps2 games? It doesnt have the emotional engine (maybe), but would it be possible to have a new type of engine to emulate ps2? Im almost certain if sony does add this type of hardware, They wont leak this info to the public until the time comes for it just like the psp with the PS1 emulator
back in the day there was few attemps to create software based ps1 emulator for the psp, for the most part it was REALLY slow, until sony released their version of the ps1 emulator, and everyone reverse engineered it.
Add me, I got a ps4

Yeah, why not, but that would mean a higher price. In this context I doubt Sony is willing to increase Vita's price just to include compatibility with such an old console.rafael707 wrote:Would it be possible for sony to add a type of hardware to the Vita for it to emulate ps2 games?
"Emotion" Engine. And it will not include it 99% sure.rafael707 wrote:It doesnt have the emotional engine (maybe)

PSP has no special hardware to emulate PS1, and so Sony had nothing to say. It just happens that Sony built PSP similar to PS1, and thus it can emulate it fairly easy. That's all.rafael707 wrote:Im almost certain if sony does add this type of hardware, They wont leak this info to the public until the time comes for it just like the psp with the PS1 emulator
You mean POPS, right? That's just because Sony knows the console hardware way better than the scene does, and thus can program it way more effectively. As I said, AFAIK PSP has no extra hardware specially to emulate PS1.rafael707 wrote:back in the day there was few attemps to create software based ps1 emulator for the psp, for the most part it was REALLY slow, until sony released their version of the ps1 emulator, and everyone reverse engineered it.

rafael707 wrote:but would it be possible to have a new type of engine to emulate ps2?Why would you add a different hardware than EE? If you want to emulate PS2 games, you need to include the EE, period. It really makes no sense adding other hardware type (for what?).
The way I see it, if its costly to add the EE chip onto the Vita, Why cant sony make a cheaper version of the chip and call it what ever just for ps2 emulation?? I completely understand that the Vita's hardware differs from ps2 and even ps1 correct?

From the looks of it, those who hope that Ps2 emulation on the Vita will be possible should lower those hopes now, If newer ps3's cant do it, neither will the vita, Why you think there are no ps2 games on PSN for download??

Do you think Sony might make a program that is able to port PS2 games to the Vita easily, like a program for PC? Or is that even possible?
Re: Does anyone think that PS2 emulation on the PSVita is po
Never heard of such tool, but that's probably possible, though it would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to costly to develop.

Or maybe a Remote Play with older models of PS3 to play PS2?m0skit0 wrote:Never heard of such tool, but that's probably possible, though it would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to costly to develop.
Re: Does anyone think that PS2 emulation on the PSVita is po
That would be the PS3 emulating it. If by "remote" you mean over the Internet, then no, way too slow to be useful.
