Getting cross buy Vita saves synced into cloud?

So, I wanted to play a game that supports cross buy between PS4/Vita, but the problem is that I can't connect my Vita to PSN to sync saves due to it being on a lower firmware. I know there are ways to backup the Vita games saves, but not really a way to get them onto PS4. Since I also have a Vita TV that I could update to the latest firmware, could it be possible to take the save:

Modded Vita >> unModded Vita through CMA >>> Sync to PSN cloud?

Should work but I've never tried something like that to be sure.
