Next Kernel Exlpoit Questions

I guess i'm not the only one who's desperately waiting for a new kernel exploit to be released.
Now i won't ask "when will it be released?"
But since it was mentioned, that acid_snake and qwikrazor87 found one, i wonder if they even have
have the intentions to release it. And if so, what reasons there are, to wait with a release.
Please don't understand this as impatience or criticism but as curiosity.

i really think they should hold on to it for as long as they can, until sony releases a worthwhile update, since kxploits are so hard to find.
In the meantime, i'll be enjoying tn-v on 3.01, which is always much better than to just have homebrew support, which by itself is better than nothing

But there's always going to be a next update. This would be like not upgrading your PC, because you want to wait for a new hardware generation. Once it's released, the next generation will be in the pipeline.
Maybe this analogy is wrong, maybe that's not even what you mean.

The only reason why sony releases all this updates is to patch known system vulnerabilities, to prevent us from running unsigned code, not adding any new features in the process.
If they hold on a little longer to it, then pherhaps, there would be a good reason to update, while at the same time, improving tn-v compatibility with future vita games, that will require an even higher fimrware to run on

well actually it's just the devs' choice. Say you found a kexploit and no one else has it, you'd definitely want to keep it to yourself so that it doesn't get patched and you can enjoy your PSP stuff without worrying too much about it being patched. Especially for a dev, they can make more out of that kexploit. For instance, when a new PSV Fw is released, the first thing we usually do is dump the ePSP flash to check blacklists (to see which games have been patched) and compare the flash to older fw dumps to see what has changed and if it's anything worth worrying about, and if it is, how things need to be updated.

Basically, in the hands of a dev, a kexploit is a very useful tool, and considering the level of skill necessary to find one, people would rather keep it to themselves. Not saying anything about if there will or won't be a release.

Thank you for the explanations. I didn't realize how important it is for devs.

From a user point of view, i can't blame them, Who wouldn't want to have the ability to run tn-v on the latest fw while at the same time retaining PSN features, none of this would be possible if they released it to the public
