Sony just announced it

"PS Vita Slim confirmed for UK release. February 7 release at £180 "

Thats almost 300$

in comparison - http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/pla ... 0za16.html

Even with shipping and tax it would end up cheaper

Features:
They advertise 1gb internal memory which also exists on old vita, and is in-fact useless
And the extra-1-hour-battery is probably caused by the worse screen.

I think that no one is going to buy it.

Opinions ?

edit - unboxing

you forgot as soon as you put in a memory card you lose the 1 gig internal memory

The PS Vita Slim is like the PSP 3000 and E1000, unnecessary wasted piece of shi-... hardware...

The original PS Vita (and the PSPs 1000, 2000 and Go) are perfectly fine.

The PS Vita TV is a bit weird, but still interesting and fine (if it could only use ALL the PSN stores)...

I would not buy the PS Vita 2000, the 1GB is garbage and they should've released a PS Vita Go with 16GB internal space and new cool features, you know... like the PSP Go...

In the end I would say: 10/10 would not buy.

Ps vita slim looks cheap. I mean the PS Vita 1001 doesnt look cheap. For some reason the plastic on the ps vita slim looks like hard plastic like on the psp 2000.

The rounded edges instead of flat and sharp edges make sit looks more like a toy and the shinier plastic looks like a psp. It doesn't look horrible but the old one looks better on the front. The back and the top of the system looks better than the old one though. The main thing I care about is the OLED vs LCD. I want colors too. the lime/white or the Black/salmon pink

I will most defiantly stick with my phat 1001 Vita, unless they keep the OLED and add more than 1gb (or maybe just drop proprietary hardware all together? :D).

Really though I don't see the purpose of this new release.

It all comes down to which screen is better. Obviously OLED is better. I quickly grabbed a fat vita as soon as I heard that they would release slim vita here in asia as I feared the fat ones would go out of stock.

Ps vita slim is a flop, but price drops will definitely help increase vita sales, but the real problem here is the games it offer. I know more owners means more devs will get encouraged to develop games but i don't see that happening when all sony do is show off with ps4/ps vita remote play. Vita is like 3 years old? How many years exactly before a handheld console gets succeeded by the next generation? Vita is dying, and the only thing keeping it alive is the exploits that the community discovered. Without it? I don't think the vita would sell as much as it has right now.
