Sony just released the firmware 2.60 for the PS Vita, the firmware is mandatory for visiting the PSN stores and using online features.

• The Gamocracy One 2.12 VHBL Exploit has been fixed!
• There is a new option in settings, called "device" and the bluetooth settings have been moved to this new option.
• The Content Manager and the Photo App got a new surrounding picture, when you are about to launch them.
• A new PC CMA version is necessary, but its still possible to apply OpenCMA r5 for this new CMA.
• Toggles have been added to the screen, when you keep the PS-Button pressed.
  • They've also added a settings tab for older games, which is exactly the same, as if you keep the screen pressed while playing an older game.
• Added a new "PS+ Icon" on top of some games, so you can easily manage your savedata with the online cloud (PS+ subscription necessary).
• Anti-aliasing has been applied to home screen icons.
• You can now launch and listen to / watch content, that is on the devices, that are connected to the PS Vita. So you can listen to music / watch videos of a PS3/PC without transfering them.
• In addition, the usability of many features has been improved, aka. fixed exploits, fixed some tricks for the homebrew-community.
• Sony fixed the "rename the GAME folder and put content in it" trick, so its now impossible to put new non-PSN content into the /GAME/ folder.
  • A new folder, e.g. /PSP/ECFW/ would be recommended for future kxploit usage, similar to the /PSP/VHBL/ folder for the VHBL homebrews.
• It is still possible to launch homebrews, just not via Gamocracy or any other older exploit.
• Sony removed the "keep the screen pressed for popping up the menu" in the PSP/PS1 games. Now you have to use the new way to access it.

Check my list. VHBL (private) is still working, but the /GAME/ folder is now shut. Renaming doesnt work anymore.

dang, I wonder if the same restrictions would apply with a kexploit. ??
I guess we'll find out if/when TN releases his kexploit.

TN said in a post somewhere near FW 2.10-ish, that he found a way to get rid of the /GAME/ and even the "EBOOT.PBP" protection.

TN said in a post somewhere near FW 2.10-ish, that he found a way to get rid of the /GAME/ and even the "EBOOT.PBP" protection.

Well, that's certainly good news. Hopefully, we can get TN to clarify the kernel situation on 2.60 soon.

Sadly does not fix the "preparing to download" problem. Though I do want to find out how well the vita supports subtitles for videos.

Update: OpenCMA r5 is still working with the FW 2.60 (actually 2.50 CMA).
Delete your current Sony CMA folder, install the new CMA and re-apply the OpenCMA r5 patch.

I get this issue all the time. Very annoying.

Noticed the PS Store was fine earlier today... now it requires 2.60 to be installed to access. Thankfully this month in PS+ the only thing I want is the Star Wars Pinball tables and Rayman Origin at discount... will buy\queue online, and then download when I'm ready to stop playing my Genesis emulator.
