..i am just curious. I don't have and deep programming knowledge but i just have thought of the idea of porting this old PC rouge-like (and rouge-era) games like castle of the winds, nethack, etc.

ps vita can handle it right? and its a good genre to come to the console.

i'm not saying i'll do the port, i just want to bring up the discussion, as like most of the ps vita owners out there, i keep on wondering what a superb console this is if a lot of gaming potential will come to it.

From what I understand, the PS Vita is not the problem. The PSP emulator it uses, which is currently the only way to run homebrew, is limited to the specs of a psp 1000.

It all depends on when it has a kernel expoit,how much power can it be harnessed to run homebrew?

Well, I have TOME (Tales Of Middle Earth) running on the Vita, but would LOVE to see a Nethack port!

Also working: Powder. But yeah .. a real NetHack port would be amazing!

PSP versions are already available for a bunch of those, have you tried them on your Vita?

TOME & Powder, yeah .. but

I tried awhile back with an old version of Nethack and it didn't work ... lemme check that link. Ah. Yeah, that was the one. No go

I tried Nethack and it didn't work for me...
