We didn't say it was the ribbon making the installer HAYUGE! We're just saying that the installer is not needed and that you can just add it onto the application itself.

Your welcome! Now lets waste a few more pages with thanks

But, I still wonder why you need MSOffice to communicate, I can't think of how the internals of your system work.

You don't need Office. Just a component that comes with Office. Basically, instead of relying on a server. All the data is stored on a database thus the need for the component arises.

42mb of extra M$ components? That's overkill for the actual app which I'm pretty sure is only <50kb. Reliance on other APIs should be kept to a minimum unless there is really no way to do what you want to do. Besides, .NET has so many methods you can use if you don't want to rely on a remote DB/server (LINQ/XML)

Just my two cents. No offense

I'm aware. Working on a new method to accomplish this as we speak.

This doesn't even start for me.
I installed it, and it says this

Code: Select all

A fatal error has occured when trying to connect to the database. Most likely, the packaged driver does not work with your system. Would you like to be taken to a Microsoft site to download an alternative driver?
So then I click yes and install the driver, but it still gives me the same error.
Also, I tried restarting

Have you guys solved the bug yet?
Also, when I try the update feature, it says

Code: Select all

The required file could not be obtained. Please try again later.
Then I click OK, and it says this

Code: Select all

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
