in the US my 3G Vita cost with tax $322.11

3G model is useless and even 250€ == 307.75$ only

Whats when his old model was a 3G one and he wants a new one?
And dont forget the taxes...


If people want to donate, let them donate. No one forces you to donate money so either do it or dont do it.


Just stop bitching around, there is another developer registered at Wololo.net who asked for donations for a Vita, and no one was bitching around...

I know its not exactly a "promise" but I support all the devs in anyway I can in the hope that one day if I need it, they will support me. You should never donate what you can't afford to part with, its just a good thing I can afford to part with a lot of money, I don't care if It didn't help buy the vita, its just my way of saying thanks

I've discussed this in private with TheCobra, and although I understand people are reluctant to donate in exchange for "nothing", I believe this donation drive would be much cleaner if it wasn't promising anything in exchange.

I think people should donate to thecobra for what he's done in the past, not for what he will do in the future

TheCobra, I think asking people to pay for your Vita's protective gear is asking too much. It's good that you are being honest with it, but the protective gear has *nothing* to do with the scene. My point is: either ask people to donate, and don't promise anything in exchange, or promise something, but in that case the money has to be 100% used in things that will lead you towards the goal. My point is: the protective gear has really nothing to do with your work in the scene, so don't ask for people to pay for it. At least you should rephrase it: "I plan to get 250$ from donations in order to get a vita. If I get more than 250$, the additional money will go into buying a protective gear for the vita"... or something like that

All these promises °sheesh° and i still don't think that it's a good idea to release something like the "secretE" before it was tested with the 1.80 FW.

He should really just ask for some donations without these promises but i can understand his situation (I'm a student who live on his own) when he hasn't much money at all. So these promises should increase the chance that he was able to buy a new Vita soon to continue his work.

But he's a kind and talented guy and deserve some help for his work in the past so please donate when you relly want to help him and not just to get the Game Title or the "secretE"

yes some very smart posts here but I like to think of it this way

people will always look out for themselves so if he just asked without offering anything then he would get dramatically less donations

now since he is offering something people really want then more people will donate, and the "tiers" I think is to "entice" people to donate more then they might otherwise

frankly I dont need any reward but it will still be nice ^___^

oh and about the extra money he is asking for, yes I do agree that he should be a bit more clear with what the expenses are
exactly what is he going to buy that he will need $400 ?
mhe ether way I think its still a good cause and perhaps this is his first time setting up something like this ? so thats why he doesn't know exactly what should and should not be posted ?

Seriously though , in my opinion I don't feel like its a shakedown . I don't regret in any way giving him the money and he can use it for whatever he wants .
He laid it all out that he wanted a VITA and a case for it . I knew that when I gave him the money .

Thank you for your comments and advice. I am sorry that some people felt that i seem like "Selling","Shakedown" or "cheating" for my kxploit. My intention wasn't of that sort. I only put the LEVEL thing there because i wanted to sort of reward people for donating. I know time isn't easy but some people donated more than $20 at the time so i wanted to show them my appreciation for it with rewards. To bad that it seem more like i was selling my kxploit so for that i am Sorry. I re-posted my first post so i hope this comes to a better liking to everyone. P.S. The part of people not wanting to give "Something" for "nothing" was just something extra that lead me to this method. It was in no mean the main reason why i did it this way. it was just an extra push.

Those who want there donation back from this donation, Please PM with your email for paypal before Aug 2. After that, i think that Paypal charges a fee for refunds. I understand and i won't use this against you now or ever. So don't be afraid of asking for the donation back if you felt you been cheated or sold a product.

About the $400, I was Thinking about how when i first bought my PSVita 3g i ended up paying about $365 with tax for the PSVita, I just went through my receipt why that cost that much and i just release that i also bought a PSVita game that i never even used or remember i had. The extra $35($20~$30 case plus tax) dollar was for a new case for the PSVita but like wololo said, it to much to ask for the PSVita and the Case. So now i changed my first post and my initial goal to $250. I post tomorrow how much i have raised because some people may want a refund while other may be fine with it.

So now, there no promise or rewards for donation, There only the hope i get a new PSVita and Finish my work on the Kxploit cfw/hen. Even though i have somepeople that can bow for me that i have a kxploit, I want to release a video of me running something with it instead. I don't want to put on the spotlight anyone who ended up bowing for me.
