Vita root exploit bounty?

I could have sworn that there were bounty sites for releasing a hack for individual products, IE Iphone, PSP etc...

I've been searching around and haven't seen one for the PSV directly. I would love to see a pot of prize money grow for whoever discovers and releases the first full PS Vita exploit (root access)
If wololo would set one up with some stipulations on the method of exploitation and such. even he could claim the prize. I for one wouldn't mind dumping in $50 every few weeks till one is found.

Wololo already has a "Contest" going right now, you should read his blog.

I remember reading that when he posted it. Don't see any mention of an actual bounty for any vita root exploit, also his current contest is for
"1. 77$ FOR THE BEST VHBL MENU"

and

"2. 70$ FOR THE BEST YOUTUBE VHBL VIDEO, AND 10$ EACH FOR 2 VHBL VIDEOS RANDOMLY SELECTED"

my question stands. A root exploit pot of money would be a great incentive for people working on it.

Yes it would, and if your previous post as to adding $50 a week to the bounty until it is released is true, then organize it and do so. I'm not sure where the problem lies here.

The problem is that I was trying to see if a group bounty would be possible. Me being a random person wouldn't bode well with people donating to it. However if a well known developer were to hold it.

as random guy x i could start a $50 every few week bounty, but that would never add up to anything worth calling a bounty. If I asked others to donate to the bounty, IE a Paypal donation, I doubt anyone would contribute.

If a well known site or person started the bounty they would have a sizable sum fairly quickly.

Let's put it this way: we have been strongly thinking with npt about making a new "genesis" competition, focused around hacking the vita.

But after communicating with our "usual" partners (including pspgen for example), we found that for now the general public would be against a full hack of the vita. There's a trend among the lines of "let's give Sony a chance for a little while" before we actually start organizing such contests. Sony is in a really bad shape now, we don't want to promote anything that would make things worse, for a while. Not that I would be against seeing a hack tomorrow, but by funding a contest we would be adding fuel to the fire, and we've agreed that now is not the right time yet.

In other words, it's something I have been strongly thinking about, but the consensus for now is that this would actually give us (hackers) a bad image for now. I'm not ready to donate hundreds of dollars in a contest if the result is that I end up being insulted on every gaming website :) So, yeah, to be honest, it's less about being nice to Sony than about giving ourselves a bad image. We are trying very hard to be ethical with this, and although I think a hack like that would be ethical, our studies show that it's not how people in general would see it.

This is also why I am putting more emphasis on the VHBL approach for now, as it is what I'd call a "white" hack.
That being said, I have a few hundred dollars already secured for the contest, and I believe that given the success of the first genesis competition, we wouldn't have problems finding more funding from other scene websites.
I have a few US PSN codes to sell for a reasonable price (cheaper than pcgamesupply). PM me if interested, 1st come 1st serve basis..

I definitely agree, lets wait for sonys next big move on making the vita an experience everyone should have.. if nothing changes, its time to break the wall down ;)

in the meantime VHBL still keeps me occupied :D
TN-V is out, time to test xD
