In the future.. what emulators could we expect?

News, rumors, anything you want to discuss about Sony's latest portable console

I don't know exactly what Vita hardware specs are (e.g. does it have an MMU?), so I can't answer such question. But most likely, yes, it should be possible.
I wanna lots of mov al,0xb

Amiga with AGA support -> Should be OK
Dreamcast -> Not likely (not enough power)
Gamecube -> I wouldn't say no. Nintendo consoles are not very powerful.

Dreamcast emulation on PSP was decent ( 3d games would get between 7-15fps and 30fps in things like menus... 2d games faired much better obviously ) so I wouldn't call Dreamcast emulation impossible,,, and infact might be quite doable

if so and dreamcast didn't have a MIPS processor, then Dreamcast is definitely possible (and even if it has a MIPS processor  ).

Where is this Dreamcast emulator? The only one I've ever been able to find doesn't go above 1-3fps.

I was a tester at one point, the last build I had, had a dynarec implemented ( with *some* optimization ) which helped push some games to atleast somewhat standable framerates.

AFAIK there was no public build available so I honestly dont know how you got your hands on one ( unless he uploaded it to a file sharing site....then I could understand that... ) but the build you have sounds quite old.

The whole EE? I think it'll mostly have a hard time on the VPU(and there's two of them), but I think the PSV's GPU(if we we can touch it) can handle that.
3DS -> Should be no problem too (except 3D display of course...)

Nah! The PSP did it(PSP3D plugin) so why not Vita? Besides, games are not forced to run in 3D.

I forget what it was called (I can't find it any longer on my hard drive, I most likely deleted it) but it was pretty old, probably around 2005-2006. If you say the one you were a tester on that actually worked never had a public release then it's most likely a different emulator.

lolwut? The 3D technology used in PSP3D plugin uses red/cyan or other colors Anaglyph glasses, whereas Nintendo 3DS uses Stereoscopic 3D, and its screen is specially built so that no glasses are required, the screen does the job of combining the images itself! ;)

I know. If the PSP's hardware can do it on PSP games, why can't the Vita do it on 3DS games?

It can emulate the games of 3DS as said by m0skit0, but it can't show the 3D effects as VIta doesn't have compatible screen! -_-

So if someone makes a 3DS emulator, you can play 3DS games, but not in 3D.
