Can't downgrade to 6.20 from 6.60

Post by Pasarel »

Hello,
A friend of mine upgraded a while ago to 6.60, but he can't downgrade to 6.20 anymore. Everytime he tries to run the downgrader he gets this error: "A later version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update. (CAAFFFFFCF7)" It's a 3000 3g, so he can downgrade to less than 6.30. What shall he do?

Why do you really want to downgrad to 6.20 ? There is Light Custom Firmware supported by the 6.60 and without any risks of brick. It's the best for your 3000 PSP you can do ;)

The downgrader won't start at all or it stops while downgrading?

Is he using the correct OFW for his PSP? (there is one for 10xx/20xx/30xx and a different EBOOT.PBP for the PSP GO)

More information will only get you a better (quicker) response.

I guess that message is not coming from the downgrader (text mode software), maybe your trying to run directly the 6.20 OFW upgrader? If so, the message is normal. But you're trying to downgrade, so you need some1's downgrader.

Of course he used the downgrader... If he would have tried to run the update from the XMB it would not even start.

Oh yes, the upgrade starts when used from XMB and that is the message it sends, because it checks for version number. It is logical. It isn't?
