downgrading question

could i downgrade a psp which has 6.30 OFW to 6.20 OFW?

It depends on what PSP it is and what firmware it came from the factory with.

If its a psp 3000 07g/09g (Motherboard TA-095v1/v2) then you are not able to downgrade to <6.20, then your lowest possible FW is 6.30.
In every other case, its possible to downgrade to <6.20...

I think the newest PSPident (0.74.2) should do it for you.

If you got it brand new out of the box (from the factory, not repackaged at a game store) then you can't go below 6.30 or you'll brick it.

The safest thing for you to do is upgrade to 6.35 and install a HEN/(L)CFW and then use PSPIdent or PSPEverest to check what firmware you can safely use.

PSPEverest by Frostgater is what I recommend you use.

Module Checker v1? v1 isnt save, use a 6.31 HEN (you can find it at my website), and check with PSPident 0.74.2.
When it says its 04g, then update to 6.35 and downgrade to 6.20.

coz when we bought the firmware that comes with it is 6.30 (straight from the box)

ill try updating to 6.35 first... the only thing i want from 6.20 coz it has a perma patch....

You can't use 6.20 then. You can't go lower than the original FW.

You can go lower that the pre-installed firmware (except 1.00 (01g), 3.60 (02g), 4.2X (03g), 5.70 (04g/05g), 6.30 (07g/09g), 6.60 (11g))

Mine european PSP 1000 was shipped with 1.52 OFW, and i can install 1.00 ofw.
2000 had 3.70, now 3.60.
3000 would be 4.2X possible, but no one has a dump of it, so 5.00 is the lowest.
04g lowest is 6.00, cause no 5.70 dump.
05g lowest is 6.10, cause no 5.70 dump, and no 6.00 go updater exists.
07/09g lowest is 6.30.
11g lowest is 6.60.


He has a 04g, so he can downgrade to everything which is higher than 5.70 (if its really a 04g)

Really? I wasn't aware of that.

In that case I recommend 6.20 then use PRO-B8. (It's what I'm currently using, I've been using PRO since B4 and I haven't had the desire to use anything else.)
