Help identify the softmod

Post by deadkenny925a » Wed Jun 15, 2011 7:03 am

I have a PSP-1001 B2 (system software 3.90 M33-3) that was given to me by a friend with the ability to play ISO from the memory stick. I know there was nothing done physically to the device, as the warranty sticker is still intact. I am not sure how to identify what method was used to softmod the PSP and I want to one of the latest custom firmwares to see what this little thing can really do. Can anyone help me identify the method used to mod this PSP and point me in the right direction to move forward? I can provide any information that would help. And yes, I did search before posting for about 20 minutes.

well if its softmodded that means they just wrote the cfw files to flash right.
so no harm done.
update to either 5.00 m33-6 or 6.20 ofw.
from there you can install some of the latest cfw either 6.39 ME or 6.39 PRO, or you can just stay on 6.20 and install 6.20 PRO or 6.20 TN.
many of these can be overlapped and ran on the same console without needing to uninstall or reinstall or whatever.
A quick google search can help you upgrade etc.
Best of luck. :D

since it is a Phat, it could have been
  • Hacked with a Pandora + Magic Memory Stick
  • Updated to CFW from 1.50
  • Updated from HEN/CFW environment
It doesn't make a difference whether it was Pandora'd or updated because you can update to ANY firmware.

I recommend 5.00 M33-6 or 6.xx TN-x
