Please help with PSP-3001! What MB and what to do first!

Well, first, I'd recommend 6.20 TN. Don't apply the perma patch though, because lots of PSPs were bricked. I was just lucky

Did you read the thread? He can't downgrade to 6.20, so he cannot use perma patch on any CFW.

I think he said enough by that.

That was in the first post, when he didn't know what model he had. If you read the subsequent posts, you will find that he cannot downgrade to 6.20. Your post doesn't even make much sense.

Are you sure it's only 50% n00b? Like, have you been living in a cave? There's a 6.38/6.39 downgrader by some1 which is compatible with all PSPs models. There's also two different LCFWs (Light Custom FirmWare) for 6.39. The downgrader and the PRO LCFW is competing on Genesis Compo. Here is the downgrader, here is the PRO LCFW (which is also available for 6.20 and 6.35) and here is the ME LCFW. You shoud do more researching. If you choose downgrading, there's also TN's Hen (Homebrew ENabler). It's your choice!
