Generic Help Topic is Generic.

TheCapn wrote:First post, been lurking in the community for a while. Hacked my PSP right when the 6.20_TN-A came out.

Before I start I want to say thank you very much to Total_Noob, Davee, Some1, and all of the amazing people in the PSP-Hacks community.

I wanted to hack my friends PSP, it's an original PSP-1001.

She had version 6.37 which wouldn't roll back with the downgrader, so I updated to 6.39 and now I get the following message when I try to run the downgrader.

Code: Select all

6.39/6.38/6.35/6.31 -> 6.20 Downgrader
By Davee, ported to 6.38 by Some1

Please wait... 088C6A64

80000100
OK
Your PSP Model is 01g.
Verifying SCE Updater...Error, updater MD5 mismatch!
I ran it several times with no effect.

Any ideas?
Sorry for double-posting. I was just hoping to get a speedy response in case someone might have a solution.

Also, there is no help section of the forum, this was the closest I could find, short of the actual downgrading forum, which I assume probably doesn't get much traffic.

wow... quite impatient are you.
not everyone would have the answers...
i certainly dont...
i can only suggest, restore default settings and format memory stick, then try again.

best of luck.

If that ^ doesn't work, get a pandora battery and a magic memory stick and downgrade.

Unfortunately yes, I am impatient. It's a curse. I apologize.

That is good advice, thank you, how silly that I didn't think of that to begin with.

After formatting the stick this error comes up after the SCE check

Code: Select all

Error opening ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP

I don't have one or have a way to make one. D: But that is a good Plan B.

Don't attempt to make one, either. (For Obvious Reasons) Wait until someone can help you; is all I can say.

yes. dont attempt to make one. or u will risk blowing up ur hands. :3
see if a friend has a 1000 with cfw. then soft mod the battery with psp tool or similar application.

try restore default settings again, and format memory stick again.
perhaps you should try redownloading some1's downgrader again. v3.1 is latest i believe.

I was using v3.1 I will try tinkering a bit more tomorrow. Re-downloading and re-formatting.

I appreciate all the help so far guys.

by looking at the first trial run, it just looks like you have a bad EBOOT. or maybe the file wasn't completely synced to your psp. where'd you get your 6.20 EBOOT from? i think pspslimhacks and psp-hacks have diff copies of it, and one may have issues of some kind

Oh, I don't actually have a 6.20 EBOOT.

The only files I had on the PSP were the 6.3X v3.1 Downgrader and 6.20 TN-E

Excellent! It worked!

All I needed was the 6.20 OFW and now it is good as new!!! Or in this case, old.

Time to hack it. Thank you very much everyone, especially HeroKing, that was the crucial bit of information!
