Help with 6.60 ofw

Post by ThatMan » Tue Aug 14, 2012 5:00 pm

Ok so my brother has a psp 3000. Me and him have been trying to crack it for months. Right now he has installed LCFW 6.60 pro b-10. Is there a way to fully install a cfw on it? I have a 2001 running a full version of pro. :|

Right now there is no permanent solution for the PSP 3000 on 6.60.
If you want it permanent then you have to downgrade it to 6.20 and use the perma-patch.

First check your motherboard/generation via PSPident, if its the ta-095v2 mobo or a 09g PSP them it is NOT recommended to downgrade below 6.30 ofw!

is there a way to "force feed" the cfw to the psp? like by using Claw Explorer or Xplora or Cristal Vista? I mean as in running it from another program, basically

is the 15sec it takes to start the PSP and click on the fast recovery really that bad ?

and you can downgrade a 9g to 6.20 iirc but there is some kind of bug where if you put it in sleep mode the PSP crashes

I really hope that your brother keeps his PSP on 6.60 and just uses Fast Recovery if he powers his PSP off completely (the PSP remains in (L)CFW mode when it's just put into sleep [i.e. pressing the power switch up quickly and not holding it]).

It's not worth the bugs and the possible brick risk of downgrading a 9g by faking it as a 4g to 6.20 just to install the perma patch (which also has a slight brick risk).

I think he'd much rather have a 100% working PSP than a 10% or 20%* risk of bricking it all because he was too lazy to wait the 6 seconds (Fast Recovery is actually that fast, hence the name "Fast Recovery" ) for PRO to load if he completely powered off his PSP (which is never really needed in the first place).

That's just my opinion though, in the end it is his device and he can install anything he wishes.

Since your brother's 3000 is a 09g, I dont recommend downgrading to 6.20 and installing the Perma patch. Let me tell it you clean and simple.
If you decide to downgrade to 6.20, your 09g 3000 will be faked as a 04g, and you wont be able to update to any newer firmware(i mean that you will be stuck at 6.20).Also if you decide to downgrade, you will have the sleep-bug problem. Come on, your brother is that lazy to wait about 15 secs to boot his PSP and then launch the Fast Recovery? What's so embarasing and he wants a Permanent CFW? Incase you didnt know, PRO is MUCH safer without any perma patches. Theres no way you brick your device, and with one restart of your device the CFW will be gone. So its much safer than installing a perma patch, and having the risk of bricking an UNbrickable system.
