Downgrade 6.20 Pro-C to 5.50 gen-d3 question.

Hi. I have a psp 2003 (ta-095) and i am running on 6.20 Pro-C. So i want to install 5.50 GEN cfw but i can't make chickhen to work, when i try to run it psp freezes and then shuts down. If i try to install 5.50 gen-d3 from 6.20 pro-c will it work or will i brick my psp?

When you have a TA-095 Motherboard, then you cant use firmwares below 6.30 (usually)... Thx to the downgrader, you are able to install the Firmware 5.70 (04g) - 6.20, which wasnt possible before. The firmware 5.50 cant be installed on your device, this is just possible with 01g, 02g and 03g devices.

The 5.50 GEN-D3 CFW is a very old, buggy and not recommended CFW, which is only for 01g and 02g (1000 and 2000) PSPs, this CFW bricks every other PSP while trying to install it.


I suggest you to stay at you 6.20 PRO-C (perma?), or recommend to upgrade to the 6.60 PRO+LME, for having the best CFW feeling.

Mine is 2g and i succesfully downgraded to 5.03. But i tried to use chickhen and my psp was always freezing. I dont care if 5.50 gen-d3 is buggy. I just want to know what will happen if i try to install 5.50 gen-d3 from 6.20 pro-c.

Please post a screenshot of PSPident running on your PSP, because a TA-095 cant be 02g, maybe you ment TA-085? You need to downgrade to a lower CFW, use Hellcats Recovery Flasher v1.65 for it, it can downgrade your PSP to 5.00 M33-6, then you can update to 5.50 GEN-D3, but as i said:


The 5.50 GEN-D3 is NOT recommended, i personally prefer the usage of the 6.60 (L)ME-1.8 or 6.60 PRO-C.

I don't think you can. You need to be on 5.50 to install 5.50 CFW. You can try but I don't think it'll work. If you don't have a Pandora battery and MMS it'd be a good idea to make one.

actually guys GEN can be installed from Hellcats and you can not install 5.50 CFW on a 5.50 OFW PSP
but as TheZ stated GEN is not recommended if not for the bugs but for the fact that they stole DaX's work

any who yes a screanshot of your mobos info would help here if you truly want that garbage
(yes I have a strong dislike for GEN)

Thanks for clarifying that. I've never been interested in installing GEN since I've heard of too many bugs from the start.
(I didn't know they stole DAX's work. :O)
