1) Set the screen's brightness light to the lowest (darkest) setting you are able to comfortably play at. The brighter the LCD the more battery power it uses. (Use bright.prx and set to 28 for comfortable play and use)
2) If you have the headphones use them. The speakers on the PSP generally use more power than any normal set of headphones.
3) Only have UMD disks inserted when you want to play the game. Leaving the disk in will cause the PSP to activate the drive if you visit the [Game] menu, which wastes power. (use noumd.prx)
4) If you use the WiFi and the router is near you set the WLAN Power Save setting to 'On' by going to [Setting] > Power Save Settings > WLAN Power Save.
5) Turn off the WLAN switch when you aren't using it.
6) If you are listening to music and you aren't looking at the screen. Hold the Display button in until the screen turns off.
7) Set the UMD Auto-Start feature to off by going to [Setting] > System Settings > UMD Auto-Start.
8) Keep the PSP charger plugged in a power outlet whenever it is possible. This keeps the battery from being used as often, which helps keep the battery in good health.
By Following this steps, you will be able to extend the PSP Battery life upto 9 hours (ON LCFW mode i got 12 hours . I myself can't believe)
Or you can use Sony 2200 mAh battrey, which has 45% more battrey life.
