PSP 1001 won't ON

I try to update my psp 1001 using "PSP Update ver 6.60" then suddenly it turn off. I turn on the switch but the screen doesn't work. The green led indicator turns on around 5-10 seconds then turns off again.

I will appreciate any help for this problem. Sorry for the bad English. I'm not very good at it ^^V

If the LED comes on for a bit and turns off, it's bricked.

I'm not sure of the best way now to go about unbricking the 1001, but when I had the same problem few years back I used a Pandora battery and magic memory stick.


I found this with a quick Google search if you do not have a Pandora battery, not too sure if it works or not for your problem.

I ahve discovered a way to unbrick your PSP without a magic memory stick or pandora battery. Here is what you have to do.
Press and hold Home,Select,Start,Triangle, And square. while holding all of the buttons flip the power switch. After that keep holding all buttons without realising it goes to home. This works for all versions of psp.
