128 Gigabyte Memory Stick for PSP
I was wondering if it is possible to get an 128 Gigabyte (2 x 64 Gigabyte) memory card capacity via a Dual MicroSD(HC/XC) to Memory Stick Pro Duo Adapter. If there is, where can I get the Adapter (safely) and recommended Memory Cards and what are the steps (please be specific because I always find different answers and am really confused) to get them to work?

Yes. I remember see one of the higher up users display that in his (or her) signature and that is why I ask. Do you know how he did it? I have heard various (though many are contradicting) ways about how to get 64 Gig's of storage and they all refer to a Dual MicroSDHC to Memory Stick PRO Duo Adapter, I've scoured Amazon and concluded that MicroSDHC's only go up to 32 Gigabytes where as MicroSDXC Cards go up to 64 Gigabytes, but I'm not sure where to find a Dual MicroSDXC to Memory Stick PRO Duo Adapter. I don't want to find one and order it and find out its a Chinese knockoff as I have heard there are absolutely zero reliable online sellers on eBay in the entire continent of Asia so scratch that off the list. Does anyone know how to find an adapter that will allow me to have 128 Gigabytes of storage, and can anyone tell me the best way to format it?

Re: 128 Gigabyte Memory Stick for PSP
Just for your information.
PSP firmware 6.60 (OFW) should support up to 128GB or 256GB.
M33 and ME/LME CFW can support up to 2TB (yes, 2000GB), if you are able to find such a large memory stick.
Good old Dark~AleX was able to extend it thus far :)

ebay has a ton of these. you can get MS pro duo adapters that fit two (maybe even three) micro SD cards.
expensive,maybe. but for a 128 gigabyte memory stick,checkmate.
edit ; i didn't know someone had posted that earlier >_>. but still i can confirm they exist and the link for one is here ; http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Micro-SD-TF-to-M ... 19f81f8b29

Re: 128 Gigabyte Memory Stick for PSP
Yes but these are all MicroSDHC Adapters and the maximum capacity for a MicroSDHC Card is 32 Gigabytes. A MicroSDXC however has a maximum capacity of 64 Gigabytes. I cannot find a seemingly legitimate Dual MicroSDXC to Memory Stick PRO Duo Adapters, only MicroSDHC Adapters. Dors the CR-5400 not care about being MicroSDHC or is there a different adapter for MicroSDXC Cards.

Re: 128 Gigabyte Memory Stick for PSP
The only reason they say that is because at the time, 32GB was the largest size MicroSD card that you could buy. I've got a Photofast in my PSP right now with two 64GB cards. It came up to about 119GB after formatting.OldGnashburg wrote:Yes but these are all MicroSDHC Adapters and the maximum capacity for a MicroSDHC Card is 32 Gigabytes.

Ah yes, every once in a while we get to the same discussion over and over again.

The standard for SDXC cards was settled in 2009, every device with an SD controller after 2009 can support SDXC cards.
This is however sometimes limited by the devices used filesystem, most devices with external memory card use fat32 which is officially limited to 32gb in size. However this limit can be circumvented with other OS's or tools capable of formatting memory bigger than 32gb in size.
For example:
My iriver e200 (which was produced mid 2009 until beginning of 2010) does officially only support micro SDHC, currently has a 64gb micro SDXC installed fat32 formatted.
My galaxy s3 with jb stock rom 4.1 currently eats a 128gb micro SDXC also with fat32 formatted.
My acer iconia a701 tablet with jb stock rom 4.1 currently also has a 128gb micro SDXC installed with ntfs formatted.
Even the 3DS is capable of supporting micro SDXC cards with adapter, mine currently holds a 64gb micro SDXC.
I think that even those old nds flash cards from 2009 and way back are capable of either holding SDHC or maybe even SDXC (if correctly formatted of course).

Re: 128 Gigabyte Memory Stick for PSP
The set up I use atm is one of these http://www.dx.com/p/micro-sd-tf-to-ms-p ... IAQkDFXlyX it supports 64GB Micro SD cards i have 2 of these in it http://www.oempcworld.com/Merchant2/mer ... buteCode[1] which is plenty of space for all the emulators from PC engine to NES , PICODRIVE with all the good Sega CD games plus Megadrive/Genesis , SNES ,GBA GB/GBC GameGear & Master System, CPS1, CPS2, NEOGEO, PS1 Eboots plus back ups of all my UMD games and more, and it runs faster than UMDs or anything ive never had any slow loading or lag issues on any game ive ever played. The 2 64 GB set up will work but i didnt see a point in it myself. Now i will say buy more than one adapter because ive used the 12$ photofast CR 5400 similar to this http://www.dx.com/p/dual-microsd-tf-to- ... IAQtjFXlyX and the cheaper black ones, DX used to have the ones in a retail package but are sold out and iirc most of what you can find now are chinese knockoffs but they still get it done. I purchased all of mine from DX they ship free & have a decent return policy but like the post above you can find them on ebay also. You should know ahead of time these adapters are SUPER easy to crack & break ive broken 2 of them and i keep my handhelds in Mint condition so try not to swap cards in & out try to just leave it in after formating, also try not to take the adapter in & out of the PSP just slidding one in & out a few times can cause one edge to chip and it will become useless because the plastic is so thin and fragile, this i know from personal experience. You should never keep just one card in it after formatting because that makes them more susceptible to crack so leave 2 MicroSD cards in at all times, to save yourself some hassle spend the few extra bucks to buy a couple extra adapters for back ups. Now to format the MicroSD card you have to take 1 MicroSD put it in slot 1 inset into PSP and format then take it out and put the 2nd MicroSD in slot 1 & format it then take it out put the card you formatted 1st into the 2nd slot inset & you should see like 62GB if you use the 2x32GB or 125GB for the 2x64GB you usually shave about 2GB off in formatting. Now to install your choice of CFW i suggest 6.60 PRO-C Fix3, I have found this works with pretty much everything without fail like FF Type-0 Trans & other difficult stuff. You will want to make sure you don't swap MicroSD cards around in or out of slot 1 & 2 because it will corrupt the data and all your files will be a mess. Here is a post Wololo did for installing CFW in PSP 3000 http://wololo.net/installing-pro-cfw-on ... psp-brite/ if you have another model PSP check around you can find one for your model. Then check here on wololo for homebrew & emulators etc sorry for the Novel length post but you asked for very specific directions so tried to accommodate.
