Max memory card size for GO

Hey guys, I've read this topic which claims psps (not the go) can support up to 2 TB via two micro sd cards in theory (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=21312). However, I was curious what the max size the psp GO supports. I currently have a 16gb micro sd along side the 16gb internal, however I don't like this setup because I can't fit all my music and games onto the same source. The reason this sucks is because in order to use mp3play plugin , the game and music must be on the same source or the psp will either freeze or not run. This, I'm looking to get either a 32 or 64 gb micro sd and put everything together. Has anyone tried this before? I can only find discussion on this regarding not gos...

Regardless I'm ore interested in the max size of the micro ds for the go, not in finagling mp3play to work from both sources simultaneously, believe me I've tried every possible configuration.

Furthermore, if there actually IS someone who has gotten 2 64s micro ssd to work on a regular psp I'd love to hear about that as well, or even just one 64gb micro sd on a not go (and go, remember that's what I'm more concerned about)

The PSPGo uses the memory stick micro (M2) card, forget about using micro SD on it. Max capacity memory stick micro is 16GB .

On my slim i used two 32GB micro SD cards with an adaptor, with a total 64GB. The adaptaor claimed to not support 64 gB sd cards, but that might be because 64 gB sd cards are formatted in x-fat and not fat32, so formatting in the PSP "might" work.

Well I have heard of 32 GB M2's but I actually never came across one.

So yes the most common size you can "still" find are the 16 GB ones.

If you plan to use sd's in the go, well you will have to make an adapter and a mod on your go... get a photofast cr 5300 (one sd) or a cr 5400 (two sd) or any clone of those.

Get a flat band cable or make a pcb which has the same size as the m2 and the pins. Now connect the the flat band cable or pcb you routed out of the psp GO's M2 slot to your Pro Duo adapter, watch the pin assignment so that you don't connect anything wrong. Now strap that pro duo adapter onto the back of the GO with some duck tape.

It will look ugly as f*ck but it will work and everything is reversible. So no persistent mod to your GO.

Regarding the maximum size, I currently use a psp 3004 with 128GB, two 64GB put into a photofast cr 5400, you can only format them in the psp though, and reading them out in an external card reader does not work either.
So everything you copy has to be done via the psp usb interface.
If you swap around the sd cards in the dual adapter, you destroy the partition and the psp will whine that the memory stick is not formatted.
Reversing it will not help you, as the psp has the bad habit of already writing something to it so you WILL have to format it again losing all your stuff.

And yes 128GB works rather well, sometimes the adapter will not be recognized but that is an issue with the pins from adapter to sd cards. The slightest pressure on the adapter and or sd cards will make it work again.
Be advised to only use the same type of sd cards (same brand, same type, same size) this has a major impact on performance as well as functionality, some sh*tty chinese clone cards only make trouble and never work good.

I still have one of the firsts. I also have the neo pad 8 in 1... the old days when memory sticks were veeeery expensive... 4 gigs at that time on the PSP was humongous
They released a more compact version too, with only the 4 GB mini hard disk.

I guess it's not gonna happen for the go, but I think that the 16 gB the internal storage has is pretty big (well, I did use the 32mB that came with fat back in the day... man I feel old).

Also, I think any linux distro would be able to read your 128 mB pro duo card, I'ts probably windows complaining about it not being in ex-fat.

Do you have a link for this information? I'm fairly confident I could internalize that. I'm pretty good with a soldering iron, just put a psp camera inside of my 3000 and still have the UMD drive!

Ok, so as long as I don't physically remove the m2s from the adaptor I shouldn't encounter any problems? Have you run into any corrupted data or lose of information when you HAVENT switched them up?

Are certain cards known not to work? Which ones did you use out of curiosity.

How often do your cards not read due to the incorrect pressure? Is this something that happens a lot? Does this have any negative repercussions?

Also, I'm curious how the psp interacts with the m2s. Do you think I will run into the same problem I had on the go where it could only read from one at a time? I have 32gbs of music and then a bunch of games/apps/and brews. Can the psp read from both sticks via the adaptor simultaneously? I think it shouldn't be an issue because they both sort of combine no? Aka the address ms0:/MUSIC/ applies to both sticks...

PSP OFW 6.60 limit: 128GB or 256GB.

PSP 5.00 M33 limit: ~2048GB (2TB).

PSP 6.xx ME limit: ~2048GB (2TB).

Not sure if this also applies to the PSP GOs M2 memory card.

has anyone actually tested this? Not that I would ever buy that xD. What do you think would be more reliable? One 64gb with a single adaptor or two 32gbs with the dual adaptor

Sony never produced 32 GB M2, there is maximum 16 GB and there are no adaptors to use micro SD inside afaik.

If PSP's wifi would support N we wouldnt need any of these, data flow over wifi would make the trick at least at home.
