OFW 6.60 to OFW 6.20, cant get back to 6.60

Post by Medion » Sun Mar 23, 2014 11:28 pm

Hi,

I'm new to all this PSP CFW thing (PSP 3004). On the first Google results it was said to downgrade to 6.20 in order to install a CFW. Which i succesfully did, after a few trials and errors. But then for the next step i found out, that i should have stayed with 6.60. I found out quick how to manage that upgrade with the Upgrader, but the PSP keeps telling me, that the Upgrader and the OFW 6.60 are corrupted. I allready formatted the Memory Stick twice. PSPIdent is also said to be corrupted.

thanks a lot!

Downgrading is never a good thing

Can you update via the option in the XMB? if yes then use that to get to 6.60

EDIT: The reason its saying they are corrupt is because you are on OFW which obviously will not run unsigned code

XMB
via internet: A connection to the server could not be established. (20000006) <-- web browser is working though
via Storage: The update cannot be started. The data is corrupted. (IDXFFFFFFFF) <-- it is the version from the PSP web page

Oh I know that error, Its caused by downgrading the PSP
It can be fixed iirc but I don't remember how

I think it had something to do with the IDStorage tho

You know, staying on 6.20 may be the way to go for you. PRO-C2 has a permapatch compatible with the 3000, so maybe you should stay with it. Download PRO-C2 6.20, run PROUPDATE, and then run the permapatch. It works on 3000, IIRC (all I have is a 2000, but I think I heard it somewhere). NOTE: The permapatch has a higher brick risk than just installing LCFW or cIPL (cIPL does not apply to you because you're on a 3k, so whatever). Just... if something breaks, not our fault. :D Also, if you use PSN, PRO-C2 6.20 still supports it.

i believe that TA-095v2 should not downgrade to 620 because many people have problem with it. try upgrade to 660 with the last version of Chronoswitch v5 and stay with 660. PSN can only be accessed with 660 OFW, any CFW doesn't work now.

This is untrue. Just run the 6.20 permapatch, it's the best way to go on a 3k. PSN works.
