It uses matching.

If I would see this working for the GTA titles LCS and VCS I wouldn't complain. Any word on that potential possibiltty

You can find out if they're compatible by either of the following methods -

Linux -
Coldbird wrote:You can help us! All you need is the application umdgen and edecrypt.

1. Unpack the EBOOT.BIN of your game using UMDGEN.
2. Decrypt it on your PSP using edecrypt.
3. Issue the following command to figure out if your game uses the matching library or not.
cat EBOOT.BIN | grep AdhocMatching

If you get no output from that command, it means your game doesn't use the matching library and SHOULD be compatible to the PRO online prototype we have right now.
If you get a output like this... (or similiar)...

Match found in Binary File

Then your game uses the matching library and is currently not supported (but will be once I complete the matching emulator).
Please post your findings, so we can pull up a list of games that arent making use of the matching library.

Or

Windows -
wololo wrote:I'm quite convinced this is easily doable on windows

1. Unpack the EBOOT.BIN of your game using UMDGEN. -> what I usually do is make an iso from my umd usingthe CFW features, then open the iso with 7zip.
2. Decrypt it on your PSP using edecrypt. -> doesn't require linux, it's a psp tool. I use prxdecrypter: http://www.wololo.net/downloads/index.php/download/1254
3. Issue the following command to figure out if your game uses the matching library or not.
cat EBOOT.BIN | grep AdhocMatching
-> on windows you can use "find" instead of grep: find "AdhocMatching" EBOOT.BIN. If for some reason that doesn't work, any hex editor will have a "search" function to do the job.

Otherwise, cygwin will have all the necessary tools.

Prototype? I will test it, I don't have any psp brick concern.
