Just wanted to add that I now have a version for jailbroken iOS devices. It is still in an early stage, but might be interesting nonetheless. Check here: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/ya ... ic=46040.0

Where PSP hacking is headed, Eventually the PSP is gonna run Windows Executables (Or execute batch files). :lol:
PSP Information
PSP Model: 2000 (Slim)
PSP Motherboard: TA-088v3
PSP Firmware Version: 6.20 PRO-C F3

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Update time!

R9 brings more game compatibility because the memory footprint of the engine has been reduced considerably. There is about 12 MB more available RAM :shock: in this version than in the last.

Also new releases from the AGS scene:

Ben Jordan Case 8, the final installment of the series (PSP compatible): http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/fo ... ic=46560.0

Resonance, a highly acclaimed commercial AGS game (doesn't run on PSP though): http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/fo ... ic=46256.0

Summerbatch bundle, 5 AGS games on a pay-what-you-want basis (some PSP compatible): http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/fo ... ic=46590.0

Edit: Yeah, did some more changes and now the RAM consumption is down again by a lot. Resonance might actually play now. But make sure to set these values in the psp.cfg file:
Code: Select all
    [compatibility]
    enable_extra_memory=1
    clear_cache_on_room_change=1

Thank you so much for this PSP port of AGS! I never thought I would enjoy point-and-click games this much. Just got hooked with the Ben Jordan and John DeFoe game series, and they work great in R8. Unfortunately though, R9 messed up my savegames, and everytime I load a game the "blue screen of death" appears, surprisingly though the game "Back Door Man" saves and loads fine. Any fix on this? Thanks.

This doesn't sound good. Can you pick one game that shows the problem and do the following:
- Load the faulty savegame and when the blue screen appears, press "X" to dump the information to the file "exception.log" in the AGS directory. Then post the file.
- Upload the savegame, e.g. by attaching it to a post. The savegames are named "agssave.xxx" in the game folder (or a subfolder of it). When in doubt which is the right one, just upload all of them.

Nevermind, I think I got the problem.

Please try this daily build: http://jjs.at/daily/AGS_for_PSP_2012-08-27_12-41-46.zip

It should be able to restore savegames. The issue only affected AGS 2.x games that is why I didn't notice in testing and why it doesn't happen with Backdoor Man.
