[HELP} PSP 3001 UMD Drive

Post by Cartridge » Sat Jun 18, 2016 4:27 pm

Hello everyone, I'm looking for some help. Mainly custom firmware options.
I have a 3001 PSP and the UMD Drive's pin to read and the pin that tells PSP the tray is closed are both broken.
I've been googling for months and years and now it's about time I reach for help. I have a number of games I want to play and are UMD. I know my Custom Firmware 6.39 LME Latest Version can run ISOS and GAME150 but my internet is ever so slow downloading a game takes 2+ days. Now what I've been looking for is a plugin that enables the UMD Drive to be on at all times...Sadly, I had no results for years. I've been slowly downloading games overtime but I got a recent corrupt SD Card that caused me to lose everything I had downloaded previously. I don't want to go through downloading them all again so I'm looking for anything that can enable the UMD Drive without those 2 pins.
Anyone know of anything that can do such job?

Hey man, I don't know of any custom PRX's that do what you're looking to do. I know there are PRX's to disable the UMD drive, though nothing to force enable it, likely due to the fact that it is a hard switch.

However, there is a fix! Solder a few pins together to get it working again. https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=18910.0

And to disable the UMD drive entirely, (I bet you the motor might spin intermittently without their being games in it if you solder those points together) you should use this PRX viewtopic.php?f=28&t=7741
