With this project completed, aside from actually understanding how the firmware works, it will allow us to do whatever we want.Dexterp wrote:Okay, excuse me for sounding dumb, but theoretically what could be done once this project is complete? I understand the importance of having something open-sourced, but what could actually be added, how far out of the original firmware constraints can we go?
How far is left to go? I'm genuinely worried this could go the same was as the utopia kernel, can the community incentivise the devs to put more time and effort in? e.g. Kickstarter? If therre was a kickstarter I'd pledge $100 right off of the bat. I want people to copy paste this, quote it or whatever. I would stick to this.
Say for example, you wanted to have the bluetooth LED on the PSPGo blink whenever data is accessed from the internal storage because you don't actually use the bluetooth feature at all. Another would be changing a module's functionality, to make it do something else that is not intended and have it log the data (depending on your intentions). As long as you're not trying to do something completely off-the-wall then anything goes.
There is a lot left to go and I doubt this will end up like Utopia since we're not planning on letting it die out. As for the Kickstarter idea, I would have to get back in touch with you after I talk to Felix about that. I hope I didn't sound too vague when answering your questions.
