Another update:

-Added midi music playback

Short changelog, but this is now the real deal for music playback. No more offline conversion necessary, all preparation for SDL_Mixer is now done internally. To use music playback, you need GUS patches for Timidity (e.g. from the SDL website). Extract the archive to the memory stick root or the Abuse game directory.

I think this is the only Abuse port that can play music btw.

I don't experience any problem on my 1000 with 5.00 M33-6. Can you describe the issue with more details?

Any plans to update to 0.80?

I will eventually update to 0.8, but it won't bring all too much to the port. One of the major new things in 0.8 is the music support, which is actually based on the PSP port . I had contacted the maintainer of the Abuse SDL to add it to the official repository and he then also did some code refactoring and under-the-hood fixes.

I have no exact timeframe in mind though.

I absolutely love this game! I remember playing this on DOS in the 90s, thank you JJS. Looking forward to 0.8.

I updated the port to Abuse 0.8.

Because the analog stick of my PSP has become pretty much useless I haven't tested the game all too much. If you have issues with it, please let me know.
