CPS1/2psp & mvspsp question:

Post by Bleh1985 » Wed Jan 19, 2011 6:57 am

It seems like everyone has this working just fine on their 6.35hen, but I'm really puzzled by this and maybe someone can enlighten me on whats happening:

PSP 3001 ofw6.1Pro - All works just fine

PSP 3001 ofw6.5Pro - cps1/2psp/mvspsp 2.0.6 3.xx gets stuck at the emu loader and doesn't make it to the directly. PSP doesnt turn off or anything it just stays stuck forever until shut down. Only buttons work during the screen are Brightness and Music which in turns asks if you wish to exit game.

cps1/2psp/mvspsp 2.3.1 3.xx runs perfect until loading a rom which then reverts back to emu menu which allows configuration of buttons, saving, etc. Can exit back to XMB.

Any ideas?

mvspsp v2.2.2 you need bios for this one
the working fine for me/ psp2004 8c 6.35 HEN signed

Just tried those and still no go, it loads and goes to blue screen with title CAPCOM... but never makes it to boot directory.

I'm not sure if this is a software issue or the PSP itself is scr..ed up. I see that the snes seems to work fine so why the heck isn't these other ones working, another thing is I can't get prometheus to work on this one either it shows the menu freezes shuts down.

Wanted to also mention something weird that happens in 6.31 which is if you save anything in snes it makes the emulators play for like 1 minute and then shuts down. Also I don't know for sure or not but it seems like if there is less than 1gig left on the memory stick all the emulators shut down on play after less than a minute. Very odd... prometheus works just fine and my isos/csos play for ever even after saving.

For the cps1/2/mvs 2.3.1 is that redirect to menu on rom boot a ROM issue or emulator issue? It happens when it unpacks the ROM at right at the startup of the ROM it redirects to emu menu.

i don't no what your ofw is
otherwise try update to ofw 6.35 it's running more stable and there will be future update's only for the 6.35HEN
first i was running them only with sukkuri and HBL that works great also now i use the 6.35 HENsigned and no problems at all
so i tryd out a lot of the emu's before it was working 100% for me
so i can give you the advice try and try and try again and don't give up there is a way to run them
so good luck

I use to use one of them with the HBL method and works quite well, maybe you need to try a lot of emulator there are different versions for diferrents PSP like the Phat or Slim. Remember to do the cache necessaries file from the ROM you need,
for some titles of CAPCOM works CPS1 Or CPS2 and others MVSPSP. Theres a lot of refences for that titles yous need to look for them on google.
I suggest to you these link for the emulators, works well with HBL Or TN-B just try again and agian to find the best for your PSP and for you.

Code: Select all

The psp with the issue is a 3001 on ofw 6.35. The other one is brand new on ofw 6.31. I really want to update it to the 6.35 ofw but after seeing how it ran on a used psp 3001 on 6.35 im reluctant to do so.

On the psp 3001 used with 6.35 I've ran all the versions from 2.0.6 to 2.3.1 including 2.2.1a and all the ADHOC versions of cps1/2/mvs.

I've cached all the cps2 and mvs files and I have the bios for mvs as well. Like I said earlier the problem with 2.0.6 and anything below is they freeze at the intro load up and NEVER makes it to directory meaning that blue screen with a square box in the middle showing you what emulator you loaded stays stuck there only way out is to turn off the psp and back on.

In 2.2.1 and up to 2.3.1 they boot up to the directory and as I load up a rom it loads decrypts and after 100% decrypt reverts to the emulator menu screen which allows config to be changed but refuses to play the game. I want to think that the psp is the problem because its used and I have no idea what its been through, but that wouldn't make much sense when snestyl works just fine. My other suspicions could be related to 3g, 4g, but my brand new 3001 has a higher chance of being 4g and if it works than so should the used one and if its a 3g it should defiantly work. My last suspicion was it could have been a rom issue, but that doesn't make sense either since the roms work fine on my 2.0.6 so whats the chance of it not working on 2.3.1 even after updating the caches. All in all I'm puzzled and juking this old psp and still reluctant to upgrade on my new psp shorter boot up time isn't worth the risk.

If anyone has an answer to this puzzle I'd still appreciate it as a fyi.

If this realy like to much to you, try to load with hen-signed or sukkiry-hen or sukkiry-HBL, theres other kind of cps emmulator named "cps2cheat" I dont remember where I've got but look for them over the NET. And then there's in the Forum a HEN-HBL loader that you can choice HEN or HBL for run your emmulator, and see yor settings on the INI from your Directory emmulator and check thats look something like this "ms0:/PSP/GAME/CPS2.../roms" try to get different kind of bios for your emmulator and first try to load without any room if this not freeze then try with rooms.

Some of them not works with HBL because have "prx" files but run with HEN, I used to use those without "SystemButtons.prx" and worked quite well on 6.20 OFW with HBL on 6.20 I can run sukkiry or pattapon and works very diferrent some homebrews, load them with one or other method. I think you only have HEN or Sukkiry. But try and try diffrent emmu, different methods to load and any test, remove you directory emmu and try other I mean clean intall of your emu.

I hope this could Help You.

Thanks for the input guys, already juked the psp so I won't be able to try the stuff asciito said, but to respond to the ini file I did check that and changed it few times. I also did the hen sukkiri exploit 6.35 and the signed hen of 6.35 and although they work those specific emulators still wouldn't function properly. Thanks again for the input.

I am having a similar problem with cps2 and mvs. I am on 6.35 hen pro signed and 3001 psp. This is a newer psp as well. I can manager to get cps1 and some games for cps2 to work, along with mvs. However games like marvel vs capcom or SF vs XMEN freeze during the loading stage. Here are the versions I'm using.

I don't think it's a rom issue b/c the same setup of these roms worked fine on my former 1.5 phat model. I even put the cache in there and still freezing. Anyone manage to get these games working on the psp 3001 6.35 pro hen? Here are the emus that (partially) work:

http://pspslimhacks.com/mvspsp-cps1-and ... -psp-3000/

btw - the same emu's didn't work at all before the 6.35 pro SIGNED version came out so something in the signed version fixed them. Can someone try to sign these emus to see if that works? Not sure how to do that yet but I can try.

This might help it might have to do with the HEN itself because as far as I know hen isn't 100% compatible with everything yet even tn-6.20 Isn't at 100% but in the high 90%.
I tried the same programs roms on my friends psp 1001 on 500 gen and the roms that wouldn't work on the HEN work perfectly fine on there. You'll just have to wait for a TN-6.35 hen if TN decides to do it.
