[Release] Python Collection and pyMenu API

Post by Acid_Snake » Tue Sep 11, 2012 11:13 am

For pyMenu's next version I decided not only to make a new menu style, but to make an API that allows anyone to use the menu styles and basically all functions in pyMenu with their own homebrew, with the goal of making python development easier and faster.
To prove how easy and quick using the menu styles is, I decided to code a small app that launches other python homebrews, therefore creating a small collection of python homebrews, including:
- Spider Solitaire
- Chess
- PSPTools
- Guess my Number

Using the menu system:
Soon I will make a tutorial on how to use the API.

I do know how to use / start it or is it just for vita / hbl.
Often python HBs use an aditional floder at the root = ms0/:
HomeBrews working with Psp 6.xx fw viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2624
ofw (shrunk) HomeBrews viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1879

All Psp homebrews at mfi.re/toBsucht

I haven't tested with vita, but you just copy the contents of the zip to ms0:/psp/game like any other homebrew.
What you are talking about is probably early python ports that required you to copy python modules at ms0:/python, this is no longer needed since those modules are now inside python.zip

edit: the pyMenu API download is for devs, the python homebrew collection already includes this API

Sorry Acid_Snake my mistake. Now i got it working idk what was wrong.
(1st i use easypbprx and only get a grey display it was only possible to exit with homebutton ^after reading your reply i tested the orginal with success^than i used pspextra tool to sign it again with success^^)

Very nice 4+ homebrews and a singel eboot... by the use of that tool much more Python psp brews should work with ofw :)

Yes, all python homebrews will work because the eboot you signed was the interpreter itself, not the homwbrews (the homebrews are the.py files)

are they python homebrews? if they are then they have to be modified because they are now going to act as modules, not standalone apps.
Give me the links to them and I'll do the porting.

edit:
indeed portable bubbles is a python homebrew, I will work on porting it.
battleship is a lua homebrew not python.
