so, this custom firmware is supposed to work on the E1000 too? i just got my first psp and realized that there are very few games available in my local shops. I am looking into installing a light version of a custom firmware but I am a bit unsure if it works with this model.

Also, i was wondering if you can delete it from the system if a one point you decide you don't need it anymore?

Yes, both 6.60 PRO and LME have support for 11g models (E1000). Just make sure to install the light version and not to flash any cIPL.

I downloaded the link provided in this topic , i assume it is for the link version. This is what the readme says about it :"LCFW 6.60LME installer for OFW6.60".
What exaptly does flash any cipl mean? so i know what to not do.

Can i also ask how exactly it can be deleted? i am very new to this, but as far as i understood every time you turn off the psp tyhe firware in deleted from the ram. does that mean that if you simply delete it from the memory stick it gets deleted, or is there any other step that needs to be taken?

Sorry for the number of questions

If you launcht the LCFW LME Installer you can either install or uninstall the LME Stuff for the flash0.

And if it really says its LCFW LME, then you are safe, cause LCFW and LME does NOT contain cIPL stuff!

Some Brick Risk Lowering Stuff "Probably should be added into it"

You should always have the AC plugged in and wait until your battery is 100% with of course still keeping the AC plugged in whilst at 100 as well. This is so your battery doesn't drain below the CFW update limit anytime during the installation because if it drains even one below the limit you would probably get an instant brick.

Been doing that for years on my 1000, never bricked ever other than my motherboard fizzle which caused the buttons not to work but that isn't CFW, no need for any Pandora.

Same AC plugged in method with 100% battery is best even for LCFW motherboard users it takes the brick risk down a lot.

Only way someone could brick with a LCFW though is if they were silly enough to use CIPL or regular ME on a non supported model or if they were silly enough not to wait until the PSP had charged to 100% and left the AC in afterwards as an extra precaution after that.

Also it helps not to turn the PSP off when you see a 1 second BSOD as that normally isn't a real one if your motherboard is flashable and it only shows up to signal that the permanent files are flashed on a permanent CFW and all you have to do is wait for 10 seconds before the 6.60 updater pops up on your flashable motherboard if you have one.

Also if you are updating from 5.50 Promo after you have changed the version.txt to 5.50 change the device back to Memory Card in a instinct. Running an update in Prome is sure for a brick if you don't change it back to there and leave it in flash 0.

Finally in any CFW disable all the plugins you have to upgrade to a new CFW to lower even more risks.

Other than that I don't think there are any tips In can add to make your update even more safe.

Any updates are done at your own risk.

Even if the battery percentage fell below the cfw limit of 78%, you wont get an instantbrick.
Your psp can brick if you power it off (remove battery, shut it down, battery runs out of energy), there is no other way to brick your psp while updating, its always the power (well okay, the memory stick / umd disc, dont remove them).

The updating from prom add-on cfw to 6.60 ME is save, you just have to edit the version.txt (well or replace it).

You mean the bright blue screen when launching the Updater which installs OFW+ME CFW in one step? Its normally and its no BSOD, and its no special sign.
Btw, the ME Updater refuses every 03g, 04g, 05g, 07g, 09g and 11g model, so you cant brick your newer PSP with installing ME CFW, except 2000 88v3, you can brick those with installing ME CFW.
