Yes you did. This is the guy that told me the rumours that Sony kits flashed 04g to 09g!

The problem with updating is really simple, 0xIDXFFFFFFFF. I knew this would be a problem right from the start, basically, 6.30 >= checks the Baryon version properly, so it detects as 09g. Then when it attempts to read index.dat it reads index_09g.dat, which does not exist, so update is not possible.

Fixes for this will be included in the next Chronoswitch version as well as the ability to swap between < 6.30 firmwares.

like modding the eboot.pbp of the update?(changing version 6.39->6.20 or whatever?)
inserting cfw feature in it ?

This what you want is called Custom Firmware!
And its only possible with bootrom Exploit (IPL(PRE-IPL Exploit!)).
Or with Perma Patch...

I actually think this would be great of course if a dev like PRO o neur0n decides to do it.


Imagine an /UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP (1 for Go and 1 for the rest excluding 11g) that will downgrade module (only if 09g) and install a premade 620 - someCFWvX with perma patch applied... that would be awsome!!!


But than again, we can just do the manual way.

-install perma patch

As Davee explained, <= 6.20 will install 04g modules (because it detects 09g baryon as 04g), and > 6.20 will install 09g modules, because the check of baryon falls under 09g.

Nah, look at the source code, just a simple syscall patch of sceIoOpen and some switching of path will do : )

yeah but I mean when sony will update devs have to only change the fw number and thats it !
By this (may be ) the brick chance will be very less ( does the OFW update replaces the flash0 files ?) dev could all features of full hackable PSP(again I am a noob in psp programming forgive me ) a boot recovery menu ,etc !
