Advantages of Inferno driver?

I've been using custom firmware for years, but one thing I've never done is use the custom built iso loading drivers included in many of them. I always switch it right back to the Sony one and go with it. So far, at least, it's worked flawlessly with every game I've thrown at it (I rip them meself using Filer 6.6).

Could someone explain the purpose of these alternates? I'd love to know what I've been missing out on this whole time.

Used for 1,8gb+ ISOs (like combined one of Type-0), used for PRO Online.

Thanks for the reply. So, if I wanted to play a multi-disk PSP game, I'd need to use a custom iso driver then, correct? How many PSP games were multi-disk? I've tried looking it up online, but google has failed me (it often does when I look something too esoteric up).

As for online functionality, would that be an issue with me using a 6.61 version of Pro?

Just set driver to inferno and enjoy. multi disc is not the only reason for inferno.

Its a very good driver just switch to it and see how it goes.

Faster load times from what I can remember. There were a few games that won't work without it (without an additional plugin)
