PSP 1000 Update problems.

Post by JonFreeman » Sat Oct 24, 2015 5:30 pm

I have a PSP 1000 that that I recently got from a friend. There was 3.71 m33-2 CFW already on it and I would like to update to 6.60 PRO B9 so I can play some of the newer games I have.

The problem lies when I try to update to new OFW's. Every time I try to update to 6.60 an error pops up saying the memory stick is corrupted and to try to redownload and install. I have done this and still no such luck. I have done a lot of research and people say it should be able able to just update to OFW.

I have looked more into it as well and was told that the only other way is to get get a pandora battery to downgrade, then upgrade. However I do not have the money to pick one up.

I was also made aware that you can go from old PRO CFW to new PRO CFW, however I'm not sure if you can go from m33 to PRO CFW. So I'd like to get it clarified first

I'd like to fix this with only software if possible due to financial restraints. Please provide any info you may have on the subject, it would be much appreciate it

If you are still using your original battery, you can softmod it to a Pandora. And create MMS and go to one of the 6.xx fw.
BTW you could be using a fake memory stick. Try using another one if you have it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look for some tutorials and do some digging. I'm one to tinker around and look for ways to do things :)
BTW, I'm using a Pro Duo to Micro SD adapter with a 32Gb Micro SD Card but but I do have a SanDisk 2Gb card as well. Would I need an OEM card to make the update or will any card do?
