[Help] PSP 3000 to PRO or ME/LME CFW

Post by Cheva » Sun Aug 09, 2015 3:42 pm

Hello, I'm a noob, thus forgive me if I post on the wrong forum and let me know if I do.

I have PSP 3000, according to this tutorial http://wololo.net/installing-pro-cfw-on ... psp-brite/ I should update to FW 6.60 and use PRO CFW 6.60 C2 which said to be the most reliable CFW, however to make it permanent I should downgrade to 6.20.
I have several question as follow.
1. What is the different with ME/LME?
2. If I want to use the 6.20 to have it permanent, do I need to follow the guide first then downgrade or can I directly use the 6.20?
3. If so which one is the one need to be downgrade, the FW or PRO CFW to 6.20?
4. What CFW and which version is the best CFW to use for PSP 3000?

1. This was answered 5000 times already. Use google &/or the forum search function.
2. You will have to downgrade to 6.20 prior to being able to install a 6.20 CFW.
3. The base firmware itself (Sony's). The CFW is just an addon for the base firmware.
4 I would use the 6.20 LME-2.3 perma (if your 3000 supports it - There are some 3000 devices that cannot & should not use <6.30), but feel free to install both (without perma at first), LME & PRO, and then stick with the one you prefer (uninstall the one you dont want, and THEN install the perma patch for the CFW of your choice).

If your PSP 3000 is 07g or 09g use 6.60 and I stand behind CFW PRO b10.fix1 for stable and no issues or latest pro commit to get all the latest features also appears to be stable.

If your 3000 is 03g or 04g then downgrade to 6.20 and again PRO B10.fix1 serves very well (cant use pro online plugin) or latest pro commit.

If you want help setting up PM me Ill help you.

Thanks for the advice guys.

So after further searching, it is stated here https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/PSP/ME_CFW that the differences between ME and LME is
ME CFW is a Permanent CFW. It only works on models capable of cIPL flashing.
LME CFW is a Temporary CFW that works on all PSP Models. Despite it's name, it is functionally equivalent to Minimal Edition.

Just figure to let other people like me know.

However I do have other question, related to what the Z said:
The Z wrote: 4 I would use the 6.20 LME-2.3 perma (if your 3000 supports it - There are some 3000 devices that cannot & should not use <6.30), but feel free to install both (without perma at first), LME & PRO, and then stick with the one you prefer (uninstall the one you dont want, and THEN install the perma patch for the CFW of your choice).
This is mean dual booting yes?
if so, how do I switch between CFW?
lastly, will there be complication or compatibility issues for dual booting between ProB 10 fix and LME 2.3?
