Back from m33 days, help catching up please.

Post by hyleaf » Fri Jul 24, 2015 1:32 pm

So I have two PSP's, 1000 on 6.31 and 2000 on 6.60 with a 85v3 mobo which I think are still good for cfw?

From what I see, there are two main cfw now; PRO and LME?
What are the differences between the two and how would I go about installing them?

My main concern is that I don't mind either or from what I've read, but I would want one that is still hacked even after turned off and is reversible to ofw for whatever reasons. I really only plan to play a few games like DJ Max, KH:BBS, and Dissidia. Maybe a few homebrews that I remember from a while ago.

Thanks for stopping by and any help is greatly appreciated.

If you came from M33, you will prefer the ME CFW.

There are technically 3 CFWs:

ME CFW = Full M33-like CFW for old PSPs.

LME CFW = temporary M33-like CFW for all PSPs.

PRO CFW = Alternative CFW for all PSPs. Only a full CFW on old PSPs.

Feel free to follow this guide.

85v3 also doesnt exist as motherboard. I would recommend you to use the 6.60 ME-2.3 or 6.61 ME-2.3 on your PSP 1000, and for your 2000 it depends if it is a 88v3 (unhackable) or any other 2000 (hackable).

In case of it being hackable, use the same CFW as the 1000. In case of it being unhackable, use the 6.20 LME-2.3 permanent. On 6.20 you can use a permanent (similar to a full CFW) on most PSPs (even 3000s, new 2000s & PSPgo).

Is the ME 6.61 reversible and if so, how would you do that?

And thank you for the help.

If you want to uninstall the ME CFW, use the Chronoswitch 6.1 downgrader and reinstall the 6.61 OFW or any lower official firmware.
