Possibly brick

Postby sss0 » Sun Jun 10, 2012 5:03 pm

I have a PSP-2000 with a fully hackable motherboard.
I was in 6.60 ME-1.7 and decided to upgrade to 6.60 PRO-C
I copied every folder after unpacking this rar file https://code.google.com/p/procfw/downlo ... r&can=2&q=
So, I ran CIPL flasher.
It said CIPL already installed, click X to reinstall and restart the system (something along those lines). I did so, and the system restarted.
When I checked About System it was still in version 6.60 ME-1.7
So I turned the PSP off.

Now it begins:

When I turn my PSP on, it shows the green light but nothing on screen, not even backlight. And after a few seconds, it automatically turns off.
I have tried booting by battery, without battery connected on the power outlet, with MS, without MS, etc. Always the same result.
I thought about using Hellcat's recovery flasher but I can't seem to be able to access the Recovery Menu by holding R.
I do not have a pandora battery, is there something I could do?
Thank you

The cipl of 6.60 pro-c bricks your psp, it was a fault in the cipl code sector, but this brick cipl error should be fixed in the newest version of the pro-c cfw, which is 6.xx pro-c1fix3 for 6.20/6.35/6.60 and for 6.39 is fix4 the newest version.

The one he has installed is 660 PRO-Cf3.

Did you uninstall ME before installing PRO? Moreover, did you remove the previous cIPL before installing the new one?

And yes, it is bricked. Use Pandora to unbrick it.

I didn't uninstall ME. I din't do anything. Just ran the CIPL from PRO-C that said "CIPL already installed, want to reinstall?" and I said yes.
I do not have a Pandora, is there another way out...?

You didn't even install PRO-C?
And no, there is no way without a Pandora.

If he did not install the PRO-C before installing the PRO-C cIPL he will still be able to run the OFW.

You can run the cIPL flasher of one CFW(without running the actual CFW update prior) on top of another cIPL flashed CFW and it doesn't cause a brick?

I thought I should first update the CIPL and then the firmware. So, no. I didn't even install PRO-C. After updating the CIPL it worked, though. (still showed ME-1.7) After shutting down is that it doesn't turn on anymore.

How would I do so?! That'd make me extremely relieved. It would be very hard to get a pandora.

HELL YEAH!

I held all buttons down and tried turning the PSP on. I encounter myself on the OFW now!
Neat!

EDIT: And successfully installed PRO-C now. Easy as always, too bad I inverted the process order. Too much time I didn't touch my PSP. As would say Enoch: "大丈夫だ、問題ない。"
