Help me upgrade my CFW and activate WotL patch

My CFW right now is 5.00 M33-6. I can't get the Final Fantasy WotL patch to work on my psp for some reason.

I've followed this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7stkSso ... e=youtu.be, perfectly, but it still has slowdown problems. Please help.

I also know absolutely nothing about CFW and upgrading, so whoever helps will need to be very clear and simple to understand and follow.

1. I don't even know what type of PSP I have. All I know it is a FFVII 10th anniversary edition PSP.

2. What does it mean by launching something from the XMB? I have everything on a memory stick, if that's relative.

3. Will downloading the new CFW prevent me from playing my current games on my memory stick?

There are many ways to tell what PSP you have, by looking at the small bar code sticker on the bottom of the PSP (it should look like this - xxxxxxxxxx-PSP3001 [where the x's are letters and numbers and the 3001 is your model number]) or you can tell by looking at the select and start buttons, if they're rounded rectangles then it's a 3000 etc. You're using M33 firmware and you said it's the FF CC special edition so it's a hackable 2000.

The XMB is the menu screen for the PSP (Stands for Cross Media Bar)

No, it will actually make your system more compatible with the latest games released.

Alright so I downloaded Custom Firmware 6.60 ME-1.8 {Installable from 6.60 OFW} and put only the "me_installer" folder inside the Game folder on my PSP. I then clicked "Minimum Edition - Update Laucher for 660" on the XMB and it said "this program require 6.60" and nothing happened.

Now what should I do? Did I do something with transferring the files onto my PSP?

cuz you need to upgrade your PSP to 6.60 OFW then install 6.60 ME 1.8

download 6.60 OFW (make sure it's not for the psp go version)

after you have download 6.60 OFW (if it's in rar & zip) extract it first copy the "eboot" make a new folder and name it "UPDATE" (all caps) and place the "eboot" inside the UPDATE folder then move it your GAME folder after that return to you psp and launch the the 6.60 OFW Update

Wrong folder structure?
It has to be exactly this:

/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP

then it is working, ofherwise disable the "use m33 network update" feature and grab the 6.60 via the original system update

You can download it directly from Sony's website (like Steven said, put the EBOOT.PBP into a folder title UPDATE in your PSP/GAME folder) and then run from the XMB.

I definitely had the right folder structure. My PSP cannot update by pressing the Network Update button for some reason.
