Will there be a new Jailbreak release for the PS3 4.40

alright so i tested it luckly i can say no brick here it went through the whole update process regularly through xmb and in the recovery menu the whole way through both it does state that it is 4.40 jailbreak it goes through the whole process like normal loads up then a licence agreement about the jailbreak loads up the update and restarts the system starts back up and i see no difference in system info still says just 4.40 and nothing is added to xmb so there is something there because they initiate the upload just nothng installed i think it may be because i have no pkg files looking into it though will get back to post with my findings

If theres no "Install PKG" in the game section, then you just upgraded to 4.40 OFW and not some 4.40 Jailbreak that is fake anyways.

If you see anything on Youtube that says "PS3 4.XX OFW Jailbreak" it is fake. Need an explanation? After 3.55, Sony patched the signing fail which is what GeoHot's Jailbreak took advantage of. It would allow the user to modify any files in the firmware without the need to encrypt/sign them. So all GeoHot had to do was modify a Harddrive Data package and it took advantage of the signing fail. This also lead to the ECDSA Bug that FailOverFlow found which let the user Calculate the private keys. Then GeoHot was able to find the metldr key (same thing we have now known as lv0). After 3.55, Sony fixed the Signing Bug and the ECDSA Bug. Now in their Private Keys, they use a Completely True Random number to calculate the ECDSA private keys.

The story:

GeoHot finds Metldr key.
Able to decrypt, modify and pack
Signing Fail = No Private Keys were required.

FailOverFlow finds ECDSA bug.
Private Keys were calculated.
Piracy truely began.

Sony releases 3.56
Patched both bugs
Private Keys are completely random

No jailbreaks 3.56+

Its just the little method of being able to disk swap a standard ps1 game and play ps1 burnt backups

Eh so I guess Jailbreaking the Ps3 is impossible for now i'm guessing someone will try hacking it again when the Ps4 comes out then sony would stop patching the hacks similar to how sony just gave up on the psp when the vita came out. So i'm thinking another jailbreak might come around in late 2014 you know sounds reasonable to me.

I plan on working on the PS3 again once the PS4 is out. A speculation has said that Install Other OS may come back to the PS3 and be in the PS4 with a Sony Custom Kernel

You may as well buy a Gamecube and a flasher for ps3. :p
